Why is Greenland so big on maps?

It's only about 3x the size of Texas in reality, but they're showing it as much larget than the entire continental US. Why do they do this shit?

In the physical material reality, we have created various units of measurements to try to help us understand and explain the surrounding environment. These units of measurements are considered to be objective, but really they are just an idea. If I had a plane, and knew how to fly, I would ask you to come with me on a flight over Greenland, assuming it was approved. Let's see this shit with our own eyes, find out the 'whats'.

Not that that would answer much. But there's so many questions and it's so easy to get lost in the minutiae. Man, what a world to explore
