Makeup -- women argue endlessly it has nothing to do with men. Do you believe it?

If you look at a discussion on reddit about it -- women will get really offended if anyone suggests it's about sexual attraction or impressing men. However, what makes girls as young as 10 or 11 want to start wearing it? Does it start as part of the desire for social hierarchy amongst women? If that social hierarchy is predicated on what "men find attractive" -- aren't women essentially doing it for men?

Is this type of cognitive dissonance just part of being female?

It has to do with how they feel.

The makeup makes men who otherwise wouldn’t want them, want them, and that feels good to them.

Gold digging moms teach their daughters to be gold digging whores at a young age.

My best friend wears makeup and has her whole life. She definitely just wears it for herself. She has 0 interest in men.

it's similar to how women wear tiny booty shorts. they obviously wear them to look sexy for men, but they will claim they wear them because it's hot outside, which is bullchit because men are much more prone to the effects of heat due to our larger/hairier bodies, and yet most men do not walk around in booty shorts.

Does she feel it does something to help her within the female hierarchy which may be full of women who have internalized things that please men as being good?

Like you can see this when girls are really young and sorta in a competition to be "grown up" -- usually includes makeup/dressing more slooty, etc. The internal competition amongst girls which can often be called "girly girls".

there is a difference between wanting sexual attention vs actually wanting to have sex.

some women like to walk around with makeup and booty shorts or tight yoga pants to get attention, even if they have zero interest in having sex.

yes its intents to give them more attractive appearance for men. makeup was part of technology gift to humans from the watchers, azazel give women knowledge of makeup for appear more sexual appealing

She doesn’t want sexual attention - trust me. She reminds me of someone in their old lady era. Like she has 4 cats, dyes her hair pink. She’s content. She likes looking a certain way and colors whatever make her happy. She also collects pink purses lol. She’s my age btw- she’s just done I guess.

I could see this maybe . Idk - she did always want to be a cheerleader and held on to it as her identity for a while. I don’t think she really likes men anymore though- so I think if that’s what started her out she just kept the stuff from it that she liked

My wife doesn't wear makeup. We need to normalize not wearing makeup.

Sounds like she has indeed religiously conformed to internalized patriarchal beauty standards. Conforming to these standards of beauty probably helps her within the female hierarchy because most women adopt the same standards of what's beautiful. She may also benefit from these standards pleasing men because they are more likely to be kind/hold doors/help if she's broken down, etc.

Cheerleader type that doesn't "really" like men anymore but aims to religiously put herself together in a way that just happens to please men. Sounds like she could be holding out for the right Chad.
