Is the World Cup the perfect example of Bread & Circus?

Cringe how overenthusiastically the NPCs in the crowd celebrate when a goal is scored

Likewise, how some of them actually cry when their team loses

Shows how emotionally invested people from all over the world are in meaningless distractions

I've transcended the need to follow NPC norms like watching the world cup because I know it's just a distraction from real issues.

I'll be spending all day on the misc instead.
