41, single, no kids, no girl. How late am I? Do I still have a chance?

I didn’t think I’d be in this boat when in my 30s and was optimistic but here I am. I will be turning 42 later this year.

I really messed up on some dates earlier this year and haven’t had any date for 4 months. There are no dating prospects on the horizon so I’ve been focusing on trying to make friendships with guys and girls by going to events. I try to hang out with those newly met friends on weekends.

I’m in the best financial situation in my life but no girl. I’m not looking for casual stuff, wasted time so I don’t make any effort towards that. Ideal scenario would be to meet a high quality girl who I mesh well with (at my age I’m not seeking perfection at all), have a committed relationship as life partners, maybe have kids, and work a well paying job that I’m good at and low stress.

The fact you haven't had a date in four months tells me you're not really that interested, because if you were there are tons of options to go out and try to get better at dating.

In your 40 it's tough. A 40 year old woman is past her prime, and close to menopause. Finding a younger woman who is attractive and willing but isn't a gold digger is gonna be tough.

Here's what I did. I locked down my wife when she was 21 and I was 22. It was the best set of moves I ever made. After that my whole life clicked and we've been balling ever since.

I suggest you build a time machine, go back in time, and find a young wife while you're young.

That's the thing with me. I am 43 now, and even the nicest looking woman of that age is not just past her prime but dangerously close to being past sensible child bearing years as well. Given that this is 2026, she has also probably been through a load of guys and has all sorts of baggage.

I dunno if you've seen 'The 40 year-old virgin' but Andy's wife turned out to be some dried up, mid 40s single mom with 3 kids....which is realistic in so far as that's about all he could hope for given his situ.

Luckily, I don't really care about that kinda life and am prepped to live out my years as a childless bachelor. It is what it is.

Either way, the unfortunate reality of our situation is actually Godfrd's brutal roast....most of the quality get snatched up early and are intentional about getting married to a guy in their age range before 25. Personally girls in their early 20s give me IOIs all the time but what sucks about waiting this long is that it becomes increasingly difficult to relate with women in that age range past hookups. I have more in common with women in their 30s and find them visually attractive however, they seem more markedly damaged than younger women.
