Really everything about the internet just sucks now

I could pull a fart out of my ass more worthy than most activity on the web today.

Ffs, everything is a scam or rage bait. I actually decided I’m not even bothering with the “new” halo either. Bullshit

Thanks mark carney

More than half of internet traffic is bots.

Yeah man I've been thinking/feeling this more and more every day for the past couple months/. So many sites have disappeared and are gone forever and traffic is declining. It's like 10 websites now if that. The algorithms heavily reward rage bait and people keep engaging with it so its all you see. Third worlders also get payouts on a lot of these sites, so if they get 100k views on a ragebait AI generated post they can eat for a month. It really sucks man.

And as a lifelong halo guy yeah, im not getting the remake either. what an insult to fans, microsoft has untold billions of dollars and could do anything. remaking halo 1 just shows how garbage everything is now.

I was thinking about this earlier. I came across some YouTube stuff from like 2010, and it reminded me of a better era of the internet

everything is fake and overproduced now

then it was a low res just personality videos
My ALT is elevated. 75.

Everything today is driven by greed and it goes back to the 2008 financial crisis.

Prior to the 2008, it was easy for many people to have their baseline needs taken care of. Security, housing, food, socialization, etc.

The average person lived on a higher tier of Maslow’s needs. People were driven by curiosity, interest and connection. They did things for the sake of doing them.

After the crisis, much of that was taken away. People are financially insecure and uncertain. Home ownership is impossible for many. Companies treat their employees like disposable cattle. People live on a lower tier now crippled by perpetual financial insecurity. People do things with a monetary incentive.

We exported jobs, then complain when we tariff foreign goods.

We imported cheap labor, then complain when we do deportations.

We subsidize housing for foreigners, then complain when housing prices go up.

We create our own problems, then complain when we try to fix the problems...

Yeah it sucks. Gen z has no idea how bad things have become. Not just the internet, I think they understand things are worse, but just can't grasp how good things were just a decade or two ago. And that was already after a significant decline.

They will never fully understand what was taken from them.

Ebaumsworld, totse forums, miniclip, misc, sherdog forums, angelfire...you could actually explore a variety of topics and people on the internet and it was an adventure everytime you logged on as a teenager. I feel like I actually learned things I wouldn't on the internet. Not to mention all the chat sites...you might be talking to a 40yr old pervert, but at least it was a real person instead of bots.

The internet used to be so big, it's pathetic for Google to have only one page of results for any query no matter how random the characters are. Things have been bad for a while but got markedly worse after the war with Russia. I think a lot of the remaining good sites were being hosted by Russian servers.

The world is cooked, Gen Z had it bad but for the following generations they won't even know what freedom looks like.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.
