PSA to Gordon: You can put your entire net worth into 30 Yr Treasuries today at 5.123%

This would give you a 100% risk free income of $358,610 every year for the next 30 years without ever touching the original $7M principal.

This is $982 to spend every single day for the rest of your life without touching the original $7M.

Zero risk. Zero worry of having to shop at Aldi because you're still worried about losing it all. No more hanging out at $15/mo Planet Fitness taking photos of a bunch of former prostitutes who aged out of the game.

This is your big opportunity to start living life Gordon. Don't fuck it up. And if rates drop, you can sell this bond for a lot more than you paid for it.

And with inflation averaging 4% this decade and quick tax on those gains Gordon could be so lucky to come out negative on his money.

Please Oliver, turn on the window unit and drink water, you are getting loopy and it's only 9am.

You do realize that just because the basket of goods used for inflation is up 4% doesn't mean every item is up 4% per year, correct? I assume Gordon owns a paid off home, which rental increases account for a large percentage of Inflation considerations. I promise you Gordon couldn't spend $982 every single day for the rest of his life if he tried.

What is your obsession with T bills? You are exposing yourself as a fraud with this shit bro, srs. We are in the biggest bull market in history with 20%+ returns and you are advising a 5% return when all things point towards increased inflation?

Please get some AC and a glass of water. Your diet of Arby's and day dreaming are taking its toll.

I don't personally own any T Bills, they make no sense for me right now.

However, for a 57 year old guy with $7M who is still not spending anything because he's persistently worried about losing it all, they are literally the perfect investment right now.

Great idea, throttle down his investment to 1% because he is 57 after all, I mean he'll only live for another 30 years roughly. His 7m could 4x to 28m with SP500 10% gains (historic average) in that time. But you are right, he should cap growth on a 7m port for 30 years because he MIGHT have a down year or two, which you said yourself can't effect him as "I promise you Gordon couldn't spend $982 every single day for the rest of his life if he tried." With 97% of 5 year periods yielding positive gains in the SP500, Gordon would have a 3% chance of actually "losing" money on a short timeline, and a .001% chance on a 30 year timeline. But again, you are right and this is sound financial advice that someone who has 7m should sleep on and pull the trigger at market open tomorrow.

He is a single 57 year old guy with zero heirs. There isn't any difference in life between $7M and $14m for him.

Right now he's living like a bum because of his level of risk. I'm giving him the solution. You can quote all of these government numbers, but you seem to have a very poor understanding of what they mean in real world terms.

Its 28m, not 14. At 10% rate of return investments double every 7 years.
They aren't government numbers besides inflation, which is the only source.
The other numbers come from studying the markets and graphs, try it some time.

Everything I've posted is common knowledge to anyone who cares enough to invest past a 401k match. The fact that you not only don't know this, don't know the source of it, and have to make assumptions on your "clients" behalf to try and salvage a dying argument on your end is pathetic. I'm ashamed I wasted my time typing back to you, srs.

FYI - I 'm 80/20 Stocks/Bonds on $8M. I have $1.6M in Muni Bond Fund VWLUX which gives me $5,200/Month triple tax free at 4%. Plus dividends and capital gains from stock funds. All automatically sent to my slush fund Checking Account.

Let's be honest he doesn't even need to spend $350k each year. Spending $200k every year is a substantial amount of spending money for a single person with no children.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

If I were your age, I think I'd have almost everything in muni bonds and just live within those means. Once I hit 50, I don't think I care much about appreciation; I'd just want to maintain and avoid volatility. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Exactly, that's what I've been trying to say. I guess if he were planning on buying a yacht by 65 or something, it makes sense to keep pushing. But I'm guessing that isn't the case, so he should just live it up within his means and zero risk.

Isn't the S&P historical avg like $12%?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
