lol at people wasting their life in college when they can be in trades

Fuking right. People that arent getting into trades in 2016 are making a huge mistake.

brb getting to know the outside world and day light, instead of wasting my life away in a cubicle
brb making tons of money
brb not wasting 4+ years of my life fuking around in an expensive college
brb making top 5 figure money
brb not wasting 160k getting my degree

Still fuking college hotties day in and out, getting respect from society for actually doing something meaningful and building things

You need to think long-term and also include MANY factors before putting down certain professions srs

physical factors:
-age
-condition of health (fitness)
-physical toll on body over many years of strenuous manual labor
-dna/genetic history for potential disabilities or setbacks
-higher rate of wear+tear and wear down of the body
-exposure to constant sun light is not good for skin along with the elements
-safety risk of equipment failure, neglect of equipment maintenance, employees clowning around

Elements:
-weather conditions have big impact on productivity, especially for outside manual labor jobs
-temperature matters
-constant hydration matters

Need I go on?

No hate on trades brahs but you can only work with your hands for SO long before natural aging and other biological processes take effect srs

I'd rather play it smart and study for a few years to achieve a nice cushioned job with a piece of paper rather than wear myself down mentally+physically at a faster rate than average workers

Once your hands stop working like they used to, you'll probably end up going back to school in older age srs

So what? You don't think trade unions have it written into their contracts that they still get paid when weather is bad?

"So what?" Is that all you read from my post? Did you even read over the entire contents rather than skim and immediately single out one factor?

Too many risks and cons for someone to go into trades, but again, that isMYopinion srs

But why even work trades when you can make 160k/yr selling used cars?
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Is this "trades vs. college" thing a daily thread here now?
"Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have."--Ronald Reagan

if u cant keep up with a normal diet as a tradesmen, its not the trade being an issue, its your lack of control and a brain keeping u from being successful.
