Same, usually I'm making the thread about 10 days before but this year it snuck up so fast, but it's probably also due to me having to prep all my final exam which are happening on the first 5 days of Ramadan

I have a tough summer semester right now. Been studying for a difficult IT security certification right... now for all of june i have 3 cyber security classes to knock out, while taking this certification exam, while being a full time worker (i have class every weekend for 12 hours total) and do finals this month.

and then boom! I gotta fast too haha. well it'll make me stronger! i get out of work at 6:30pm every day and then go lift and get home by about 9pm. gotta stick this out!

What does usually happen to your gains during Ramadan?
You guys work out before or after iftar?

my gains stay more or less the same. I used to do IF and not eat until AFTER i lifted anyway, and my strength has actually increased on cuts that way!

However, that's when i would lift at like 5pm and eat at 6pm. and i was drinking water throughout the day still.

now i have to lift at 7 and eat at around 830. it's later in the day, plus i haven't had water. so its more difficult for me to have good workouts. but i try to time my iftar so that it falls right when i finish lifting at the gym. have some water, sugar, and protein. then go home and have a real meal

Do you still do cardio? Or you cut it completely from your routine?

i barely do cardio anyway. but i joined a ball league and i'll be playing an intense 40min full court game once a week.

i do a lot of walking to cut cals though. i'll walk 5-8 miles a day which burns 500-800 calories and doesn't tire me out. i study for school on my phone while i walk (digital flashcards)

This. I keep my distance from people while fasting so they don't have to deal with it.

Ramadan Mubarak All!

May you guys have all your prayers answered this blessed month Insha'Allah.

I'm going to use it to my full advantage to complete my cut.

I'm running keto this month Insha'Allah. Eggs and kebabs at Sahur and then a massive steak with veggies for Iftar.

Workout routine will be fasted lifting/crossfit right before Iftar for 3x a week. I'll probably not be able to do much, if any cardio.

Btw: I started fasting on Wednesday to get my body geared up for this. It's challenging in the heat, but we'll all make it.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

Damn there's a huge variation in when Ramadan starts each year. I thought it started in September every year for a while.

How do you not pass out at like 3 Pm not eating anything during the day for a whole month? lol.

Why are you obsessing over gains? Isn't Ramadan meant to bring you closer to God?
