Roll Javonte Williams out there week 1, or use Khalil Herbert or Antonio Gibson for a week to see how his usage will be?

I would probably use Herbert week 1 over Javonte until we see what Javonte's role is going to be early in the year. I think Herbert is in the opposite spot as Javonte where he will have a heavy workload early and Roschon will eventually make it more of a committee later in the season.

a second vote for Herbert. this is his big chance IMO. i like herbert a lot especially with how cheap he went in drafts.

Picked up Jaylen Warren just in case Harris gets hurts. Warren would be legit if that happened.

This is one of those "do you think you're winning or losing this week?" type questions. Toney is a pure upside play whereas both Dotson & Herbert have a much safer floor. If you think you're winning in the matchup, go for the safer floor. If you need a home run to win, consider Toney, but don't be surprised with a zero. In general, in most cases (especially early before the alpha teams are established), I'd start Dotson in PPR and Herbert in standard and leave Toney on the bench this week.

I figured with Kelce out, Toney might get more targets but you're right. i'll just play it safe since it's the first week. I think Dotson can be special this year.

Plus Dotson playing the worst team in the league and scary terry is banged up. Only thing you have to worry about here is if game script becomes your enemy

"Toney might get more targets" is the home run upside play, but "Mahomes might spread the ball to 8 different guys, none of whom end up playable" is also a reasonable outcome, as is "Toney might pull up lame on the second play of the game". It's too much risk for me, so I think you're smart by keeping him benched this week, even if he does end up exploding (because realizing a tail outcome doesn't change the distribution or expected value).

His big hope if he plays Dotson but both go off, then he can sell high and trade KT to the guy in his league who drafted kupp for a valuable asset before KT inevitably gets injured..

That might not even be a factor since they might want Howell to get the practice reps.

Got pulled in as a replacement for a semi-casual low stakes league last night:

12 team half ppr, pick 11

Hated late picks in the mocks I did but I feel it broke pretty well for me in this one. Didn't expect Hurts to fall to 3.11 or Kamara/Dotson to be at 7.11/8.02.

Not bad. I think I'm a little more pessimistic about Saquon than most people, but if he plays up to his ADP (i.e. if everyone else is right about him...), it's a solid team.

Ya I was hoping that Chubb or Bijan would have been there but they both were taken. Would have considered WR/WR if Diggs fell but he went right before me.

If Kelce doesn't go tonight who do I pick up (I have an IR spot so can move Kelce there without dropping anyone)? Full PPR two best options are:

Cole Kmet vs. Green Bay
Juwan Johnson vs. Tenn

Leaning Kmet.

This is what I got drafting out of 11 (full PPR, 4 pt TDs, 1 RB / 2 flex):

Round Player Position PickNo
1 Diggs, Stefon WR 11
2 St. Brown, Amon-Ra WR 14
3 Ridley, Calvin WR 35
4 Andrews, Mark TE 38
5 Cook, James RB 59
6 Pickens, George WR 62
7 Dobbins, J.K. RB 83
8 Davis, Gabe WR 86
9 Moore, Skyy WR 107
10 Richardson, Anthony QB 110
11 Prescott, Dak QB 131
12 Philadelphia Eagles DST 134
13 Bigsby, Tank RB 155
14 Dulcich, Greg TE 158
15 Achane, De'Von RB 179
16 Zuerlein, Greg K 182

I had Diggs on the board for me, so I took him and then took Amon-Ra on the way back. The commish changed the league to convert a RB spot to Flex, and I don't think a lot of people took notice because RBs went off the board like a normal 2 RB / 1 Flex league even though we only need 1 this year. It left a lot of WR value on the board. I took 2 QBs again in this one (both late), although the rules favor the running QBs over passing, so I took a shot at the Richardson lottery ticket (where he could end up with 1200 rush yds and 10-12 rush TDs...) and then took Dak as a safe starter if AR totally chits the bed (which is another feasible outcome, LOL).

That's close, and they are both very good emergency fill ins. I'm surprised either one is a FA. Since you're in full PPR, I think Kmet is slightly better. In standard, which favors TD-heavy receivers, Juwan might be the better choice.

Kmet was drafted but already dropped for Luke Musgrave, one of Green Bay's TE's. I like GB and had Musgrave on my watch list but not sure why someone dropped Kmet for him already :shrug

Well crap, between the two of you guys you're no help

Carr loves his TE's (or did he just love Waller) but I think Kmet has a bit safer floor; here's to hoping Kelce just plays and the Chiefs are trolling all of us.

Carr loves pushing it downfield while having a safety blanket to check to in the short-medium range. That was Waller for a while, but then Renfrow then Adams, too. I'm not convinced that'll be Johnson over Olave or Thomas this year, but Johnson was also a red zone monster last year, too, so he has TD value as well.

I don't trust Kmet to have much of a floor since this team won't throw much and DJ Moore will likely be a target hog that Kmet didn't have to compete with last year.

He does have TD upside but I think I'd roll with Juwan since I trust them to throw more.

overreaction morning: Toney's career is over

also if you ever want some good LOLs check out the individual player comment sections on the yahoo fantasy app. I hopped on Pacheco's immediately when Andy Reid marched Helaire out there to start. mayhem.

Gibbs looks fantastic. I know everyone's probably upset with the touches but that can ramp up over time, especially at a future home game shootout.

Yeah, Gibbs looked fine. He was very explosive. Monty's role is going to be what you saw, but Gibbs' will expand as the season goes on.

Toney and Moore both looked like ass. It's possible that Mahomes and Kelce are the only playable Chiefs this year for fantasy, especially if CEH steals that many snaps from Pacheco going forward.

Walker showed up on the injury report with a groin injury late yesterday. If he's out, it's definitely Charbs.
