i say this as someone who was real excited for it.

at least i can still look forward to the Halo CE release they will have disc.

not sure who rockstar they think their main customer base is but it's millennials and lots were excited for this, but we're a CD hardcopy generation. they will lose lots of customers for that but maybe they will make up for it for not needing to spend money on making the discs.

Lol @ console brahs finally getting the authentic PC experience: buying a physical box only to find a glorified download code inside.

Welcome to 2013, console bros. PC players have been getting scammed by empty boxes for over a decade lol

And Rockstar somehow found a way to make it worse. Apparently they're locking three in-game stores and collectible content behind the Ultimate Edition.

Nothing says "immersive open world" quite like walking past content that's literally paywalled because you didn't buy the $100 version.

just learned even owning a disc isnt real ownership anymore. looking back to when i got back into consoles(barely, but I play once in awhile) back in xmas of 2024 when i bought a ps5 and played games for first time in 12 years, i had to go through a slow as fuck download process.



maybe there is legitimate cause for it like how games are like 100gb now and discs arent equiped for that kind of storage. either way it sucks and people should be able to own some kind of physical copy where u can at least play the campaign and multiplayer/split screen without needing internet or to download shit.

You will have to download the entire game which could be 200-250gb

We won't get early gameplay leaks like in the past until release date

Only single player at launch, once you finish it you can't resell your copy cause it's an online code that will be tied to your account forever.

Why would I have to dl 250gb with a physical copy ?

Im buying a physical copy cuz i want great games on my shelf ,wouldn't be selling ,dont care about multi-player

Take my money for the ultimate. I was planning on buying digital anyway.


Apparently they might plan to do physical disks at a later date because they dont want the game leaking earlier like how it happens with physical disk based games. Might cop a physical disk version release later on when the cd is included.

I played GTA V on release for about a month and never touched it again. As soon as I got the chance with Franklin after the first cutscene I ran out on the road to start a brawl and immediately knew the physics and NPCs were much worse.

Was such a downgrade from IV it put me off it for good.

That's definitely not the case for most single player games. I've bough many PS games when I didn't have internet, downloaded off the physical disc, and could play it just fine.

I did it with Elden Ring and FF7 Remake most recently. IIRC, I did it with Astrobot and a few other games on my son's console. It's most definitely still the norm for single player games. Only difference is no day one patch. I'm talking full download and playing with an offline console.
