RTX 3080 TI - $1,199 - June 3rd Release - LOL
https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/1/22...-date-features
In for graphics card I cant buy because of scalpers
But that's a pretty fkkin steep price point though. Hopefully with that mining limiter thing, this card will be more available.

Still going to be north of $1500 from the current chip shortages and scalpers. Also a complete slap in the face of normal gamers since the regular RTX 30x0s aren't exactly commonplace. And a final LOL when your graphics card is over half the price of your build.

Surprised by the 3080 Ti's mere 12GB VRAM. Shouldn't be though, given its memory bus. I'd probably still get the 3090 if a 3080 Ti was an option when it released last year.
Good GPU though if anyone can get it. Might have a nice profit margin for scalpers.

Be glad we still even have chips...

****in' lol at anyone who pays this price, but consoomers gonna consoom. 3090 is effectively cheaper considering mining profitability over just a few weeks of mining.
Thank you, Nvidia, for keeping the resale value high on my 3080/3090's.

Can't believe the 3080ti will only have 12gb of ram.
FOURTEEN gb is the magic number for VR. I have a 3090 and have tested out tons of games and applications in VR. Without exception, when left all to itself, many VR games will use up to 14 gb of vram in exchange for silky-smooth high-resolution performance.
Hell, even video players in VR will use up to 14gb of vram.
Nvidia cucking its customers yet again

The prices are going to be ridiculous. There are a bunch of RX 6900 XT cards available for more than $2,500.
WTF at not having 16GB of RAM for an MSRP of $1,200. I guess they want to see them go straight to mining?

They forgot to mention it will only be sold on ebay for $3,000
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

*sigh*
Godammit. Best shot I got at this point I guess because my 980 Ti is legitimately starting to wear out and the only time these stupid things are available are (1) launch day and (2) unicorn drops. Maybe when the limited hash rate cards drip out I can nab a 3080 instead.
But f*ck this generation of cards in general, though. The 3080 Ti is essentially just a 3090 that couldn't quite make the cut, which was already starting to split hairs as it is when compared to the substantially cheaper 3080 for only ~10-15% improvement. The 3090's 24Gb of vram is the only key factor that places it as more of a prosumer card for more than gaming, and seeing as how there's no 3000 series Titan, the 3090 is indeed the best you're going to get there.
So for the 3080 Ti to jump from $699 to $1199 feels like you should get more than a meager bump in performance and a petty2 gigsof extra vram, while still drawing as much power as the $1499 card.
With how screwed up the entire market is for the indefinite future, I'll take damn near anything at this point if I can get it for MSRP, but anything beyond that can go straight to hell. The scalping wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue if Nvidia told their retailers, well, Best-fukkin'-Buy to put someactualanti-botting measures in place and somebasic-ass purchase limits. Maybe tell them to fix their chickensh*t website while they're at it.
Even the limited hash rate cards a crock because Nvidia isn't releasing any limitedFounderscards, so they're still going to be gouged by the board partners. Really, the AiBs are getting to be as bad as the scalpers this generation because the 3000 cards are already just about at their limits, Nvidia's coolings is sufficient for once, and they're tacking on several hundred extra for $2 strobe lights.
Seriously,f*ckthe board partners on this generation. The 3000 series is already so tapped out right off the Founders edition that they're a borderline scam for how much they're upcharging.
Oh, and the best bit? Nvidia apparently isn't going to do limited hash FE cards, so it's "f*ck you" prices all the way.
Can I tell the difference between ray tracing on and off? Yes*.
Do I care? Nope.
*And even then, so many of the ray tracing games are just anicebump in visuals, but I could 100% live with baked lighting, and sometimes I outright prefer how it looks. It's not quite as simple as flipping a switch and the rays do all the work; they still have to actually stage their levels so that you're not just staring at darkness.
We're not going to be at the level of everything, let alone just substantial amounts of ray tracing being implemented because it's still so costly on even the best hardware available. The developers are going to cater to the most available options, which will be consoles at the end of the day, and I think that the lighting detail in just that first Unreal 5 preview before the PS5 launch would be more than enough for most people. No RTX tax to run it, either.
My concern is that their prioritizing speed over volume will being to show as more demanding titles show up, and it's also worth noting that Gddr6x runs fukkin'hot.
And for some extra salt in the wound: the 1080Ti released 4 years ago with11Gbof vram. Oh boy! Can't wait to spend two PS5s to get1 gig more!Of course it's faster, but in line with everything else I've said, I'd take slower, more stable vram that won't be tapped out and won't risk melting that twelve hundred dollar GPU.

Guys, for anyone in the market for a 3090 - if this worked for me, it can work for you. Join as many discord groups you can and allow push notifications. Specifically you want to be alerted for when Best Buy, B&H, or Zotac stores have inventory. Those 3 stores are your only realistic shot. Amazon is impossible due to bots & newegg is doing their shuffle scam.
If you're at your computer and can mouse click fast enough when Best Buy does their weekly inventory drop - BOOM, you totally can get one. Might take a little work, but it can happen

Atleast AMD is making Strides on helping us consumers with their idelityFX Super Resolution which its going to be an Open source for everyone which mean theyre going to be supporting Nvidia series cards from 10 Series and up which is awesome!!
Nvidia could of prolly implement DLSS support onto the 10 series cards but theyre like just Buy our new models to get DLSS lool.

Still just want a regular gotdamn 3080 before infinite.
Been on EVGAs waitlist for multiple cards since the day it was a available. Confirmed on their website that it's still active.
Took a break from regularly checking the online dealers/trackers hoping it would be better by now. Getting back into it now since they seem to at least last longer than a minute.
One day...hopefully the TI helps ease demand on regular.

I'll grab one or two if it means I can trade one for a 6900XT. Seems a lot harder to grab AMD cards for whatever reason, and I want to play with one. Also have friends who want cards, so I'd at least sell one or two off that way (at MSRP).
