I never played D2, but played D3. 10 minutes into the D2 beta i thought "Damb, I can be playing PoE instead" and closed out of it

PoE is great but just fkn lol at only playing 10 minutes of D2 and making a conclusion. Haven't even began to scratch the surface. It is one of the best games ever made, and you would see that if you actually gave it a chance.

played a few levels just to see updates. Looking joocy and have it ordered for release. The one thing they better fix is that damn rubberbanding issue. Got me killed a few times.

Played D2 back in the day. It was awesome back then. Also played for a couple of hours last night thinking the love will be reignited. Nope lol

Comparing it to something like POE is like comparing the Nokia 3310 to the latest flagship smartphone.

God the completely new players are so arrogant and dumb and they don’t even realize it. Was talking about the issues console has and how important the ability to create/join games it and how chat is going to be necessary to trade with people. These people just say use voice chat and how no one types anymore. Lolwut? That is irrelevant for the main issue but no one is going to join voice chat in the first place just to try and do random online trading.

Anyway, started a bow amazon last night to see how ranged would be with a controller. Again, the controller feels pretty great. Its actually easier since you don’t have to click on each individual enemy. You just hold the button to shoot and it will aim for you.

Just regular shooting.

Making him exactly as I plan my starting character. Stacking 15-20% chance for frost nova on being struck is actually really nice for the slow. Especially as melee.

and it's still awesome to this day. only normal Acts 1 and 2 are playable right now, which doesnt give some people any incentive to play. if POE acts 1 and 2 were only available to play it would be the same situation

The ability to create/join games for sure.

I've played Project Diablo II for a few months and they have their own discord. I literally did all my trades there because it is way easier to find what you are looking for and for others to find what they need from you. It beats wasting your time creating a game, waiting for people to join and then them offering you bullcrap further wasting your time. When you can actually just play the game, and when somebody PMs you a trade then you can do the trade in game. It's literally way easier and the system works. You don't need to literally voice chat other people. Just post your items in a trade channel and wait for people to message, that's it. Fact is people already have been using mediums like Discord to coordinate trades in game for Project Diablo II, can't imagine it would be any different. I'm sure it's used to make other stuff more convenient too. If you really want to be competitive, top of the ladder when ladder season arrives, I think it's kinda necessary at that point.


However that isn't an excuse for not having a lobby and having an easy way to create/join games. Because unlike trading, it isn't difficult to find games were people are running whatever act or quest you want to run and for those who would rather not join a comms platform like Discord.

I think new players can be dumb and stupid but there's also the people that stubbornly hold on to nostalgia who think any sort of change is bad and don't realize at the end of the day chit changes, evolves

You know, since there isn’t cross play, maybe they just really expect consoles to be solo or friends-only. I really don’t understand the decision to redesign the lobby for PC and then create a whole new match making type thing for consoles. Why not just put the new lobby in the console version instead of wasting time and resources creating an unnecessary and inferior system? Makes no sense.

I really enjoyed trade games where each person puts up their stuff and you make a deal. Or you make a game like “Brg Sigons Shield” and you put up your stuff and you make a deal.

Obviously impossible without being able to create/join custom games but it’ll be impossible without chat since you won’t be able to tell each other what you want.

If they make an official D2R PS5 discord or something then I guess that could work but I really don’t foresee most people using that. You can do it as an option but you should be able to have the ability to do all of this ingame without requiring outside apps/websites. I personally never used stuff like d2jsp.

Downloaded the beta on pc and was able to trade for a 3 socket paladin shield so I can make my Ancients Pledge. Beta character complete.
