I'm about 65 hours into Dragon Quest 11, will try to keep it spoiler free.

Thoughts on it so far:

- Starts a bit slow in the first hour to hour and a half, but not really a big deal
- Has great dialogue and voice acting
- Soundtrack is kinda meh, it isn't bad and some epic tracks, but lacks diversity and gets super repetitive overall
- When you get to the part where you find the orbs (around 10-35h) for me, it just feels very slow with not a whole lot happening (Act I)
- Character development, learning character's backstories, epic moments, etc doesn't really start until Act II
- Having to re-explore the areas again feels kind of cheap, but honestly not a huge knock
- Good interactions between party members
- Not overly trope-y, although I did cringe at some parts
- IDK if I'm playing it wrong, but seems like there are too many spells/abilities, 70% of them I never use, ever
- Skill tree/combat system doesn't seem that deep
- Honestly kinda dread the Tickington quests (2-D quests) and don't really care for it, just a bunch of weird quests with a forgettable backstory, plus random encounters in some are ridiculous
- Some nice touches/intangibles/cheekiness that make you appreciate the game (lol'd at all the NPCs speaking in Haiku in Hotto)

Overall I would give it a 7.5/10 so far. The first part of it a 7/10, the part where I am at now an 8/10. I can see why some people sort of put it back down after 20-30 hours, because that part is very slow. I'm taking my time with it mostly trying to explore every corner, breaking every jar, reading every book and completing every quest.

I'm personally not really into true survival horror at this stage. I mean the type of games where you are given hardly any ammo and have to creep past enemies. Games where enemies can kill you in a few hits and you are THEIR bish. I like a bit of a balance between 'hide and seek' and shooters where you have an arsenal at your disposal. Games should be a bit of fun and stress relief.

I am more inclined to play Serious Sam 4 than 'The Evil Within'

Will have quite a lot of free time over Xmas break so will likely spend a fair bit of that time gaming.

Yep - I played RE7 all the way through and it scared the hell out of me.
RE8 was more didn't have as much jump scare nonsense and just had genuinely more interesting environments & story progression.

I just started up my first playthrough and while the story and environment seem interesting, the gunplay feels awful. Like they ran out of time and just left it basic.

I heard its just the same price as the PS5 version so I don't see any problem with that especially because Epic Store is notorious for sales, so I bet it'll at least be on 30% sale by March. Bugs and some problems with optimization is normal when it comes to PC ports and they'll surely be fixed later on, that's why people shouldn't pre-order.

I finished it, put in about 110 hours into the game. I completed most of the content except for some of the battles where it is recommended to be level 99 and some of the 2D quests. Definitely agree that it drags on at some points. It'd be like, "well it seems like I've almost finished the game". But then all of a sudden it's like "no but there is this thing, and now you gotta do this and that in order to get to that part, but to do that you gotta do this". Some of it felt like stuff that was just added in to pad the game with extra content.

I'd probably still give the game a 7.5/10 despite it all. But if people are looking for a short game and don't have a lot of time to play this aint it. You're still looking at a good 70 hours likely without doing most of the side content.

Came across my PS2 and wanted to see if it still worked so now I'm in the middle of a Bully playthrough lol.

Can't imagine how toned down this game would need to be to be made today.

Havent been really gaming a lot lately. Still on Diablo 2 resurrected Act 2 lol because when I do play, I try other characters because I enjoy learning about them. I'll really try to push through the story with my sorceress though. Also havent bought any new games despite the sales because really saving for a gpu this time.

I downloaded it and started it yesterday. I never replayed the original game, but I do remember most of what happened. So far I finished the first 2 chapters and I'm not feeling sucked in yet. It feels like it was made with the Nier engine or w/e. Not sure if I just haven't given it enough time or if I'm just not that excited to play a remake. Although I know that the story is a bit different.

After beating Ratchet & Clank PS5 (which was a lot of fun, but felt very short), I started Final Fantasy 7 Remake. I've never played a FF game before, and the only jrpg I ever touched was like Ni No Kuni way back.
I'm absolutely loving it. Am about 70% through (plate just fell).

Also it made me appreciate the quantity of FF7 porn out there

So I had a little stay at home vacation for the past two weeks, which allowed me to get started and finish up some games.

Started Halo Infinite, strong 10 but still gotta finish guardians to catch up
Finished Halo 4 , 8.5. Fun gameplay, decent story, fun gadgets
RE7 9 (I really enjoyed RE7, was one of the most engaging and scary games that you can play,) idk why I put it off so much.
Also started to play GTA V on PC, I really like what they've done with online although, i'd rather take story dlcs ala lost and damned

Never finished Octopath traveler. Might pick it up again and see if I can finish it.

Just finished replaying Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. Love both games. Probably gonna try some DS3 more next (only done Cinders and Ascended) until Dying Light 2 and Elden Ring come out.

about 40 hours in Octopath having done 2 chapters for each character. good game but it kinda bothers me that thus far there is very little interaction between the characters and that their stories aren't tied to each other yet and are just completely separate.

I'm absolutely loving it. Am about 70% through (plate just fell).

Also it made me appreciate the quantity of FF7 porn out there

Repped. There are remake haters and I don't know what their problem is. Remake is my favorite game ever along with breath of the wild

I am playing through Borderlands 3, and it feels like they've taken a 3 hour storyline and stretch it over like 40 hours. Every time you feel like you have hit the end boss, something happens and the game is like "lol keep playing our huge game, cuck".

Will NOT be replaying. Just too long and repetitive to have any replay value.
