I'll probably test out the hardest difficulty once I'm done with it, but hard so far feels like normal mode to me.

This game is so good. lol at ppl writing this game off because of the length or because there's a furry character ....brb complaining about games not being fun or having good gameplay when Ratchet is delivering that in spades.
Insomniac still putting out "mascot" games in an era where cartoony animal characters aren't cool anymore - if you guys were around in the 90s you're straight frauding if you say Bubsy, Sonic, Jax & Daxter type games weren't your jam.

That difficulty sounds typical of this series, I never found them challenging but fun, rip roaring adventures. If there's an arena area that's usually the biggest challenge, otherwise you'll need to crank the difficulty setting but even that gets offset once you've upgraded your armor/weapons/max hp.
Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

I had a lot more trouble in the previous game compared to this .... Although I might be intentionally making it easier because of the excellent crowd control weapons/summons you have in this game lol ... Mr. Fungi + the water hose shreads everything and I just sweep the remaining enemies feelsgoodman. Also grinded a bit out in the arena so I could upgrade my weapons, so I might be a little overlevelled at the moment, but it's not an issue.

When it comes to difficulty that seems to be the case with many Sony Studio titles. I think they make the entry really accessible for casuals to enjoy but you really gotta be on the hardest difficulty for the best gameplay. I don't even consider myself a good gamer but my playthrough of HZD on Ultra Hard was way more enjoyable than my initial one which let me just casually stroll through the game without any thought.

Mascot characters have a lot of charm and people connect with them. It's part of the reason Mario has been iconic for close to 4 decades now. I made a post last night in the "MS at least 1 game/quarter" thread about that being a missing piece of MS's portfolio thus far. Bring Banjo back!

MS hasn't had good exclusives for even longer srs. The last few years of the 360 was a wasteland while PS3 was pumping out hits.

This is getting annoying to hear tbh. I agree they are not on Sony or Nintendo's level, but they have had objectively good games.

Not sure how far into the game I am, have finished a couple missions with Rivet/Clank...maybe 4 hours?

What a great game. Nice change I have going from serious and dark single player campaigns to this game, which is fun and humorous.

The weapon options are amazing and the Dualsense controller utilization takes it to another level.

Game length seems overblown ... Yeah it is on the short side compared to other games, but I've played 14 hours and my progress is only at 67% and I'm trying to be pretty thorough in my playthrough as well ... I wouldnt call it meaty, but it seems just about right without any unnecessary fluff.

I can completely see how people would do it so quickly though, brb not doing any of the optional stuff or messing around in the arena ... Most reviewers are on a tight schedule so it makes sense they try to finish it as soon as they can review something else.

People are idiots. I much rather pay 70$ for top tier 10 hours than 70$ for recycled and repetitive mediocre Ubisoft 100 hour game. Same type type of people that marry fat chicks with chit careers because they are lower effort.

And finally done.

Clocked in at 20 hours, did all the arenas and side content I could. All there is left is just some collectibles and apparently I missed out on a weapon, I guess its part of a collectible reward, might go back and plat it since I enjoyed the game, probably will do it on super easy mode lel.

Incredible game. Kinda wish Insomniac would do a new ip next, but we all know it's gonna be spiderman 2, still joocy though.

I think when a game is good enough cost is irrelevant. Given the state of gaming right now I'd have bought it day 1 on ps5. Honestly if you shelled out the money for a new console then decided ratchet and clank was too expensive at 70 bucks then just kinda lol at you.

I've decided to wait for a sale. Then again I got a backlog of stuff to play. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't think twice about the $70.
