Yeah but depending what you play it doesn't matter.

If you are cucked by aaa mainstream gaming, sure, you need the top end 1% pc to lol @ consoles. Aaa games are more optimized for consoles and targeted towards them as consumers.

If you play mp games and indies and basically anything that's not aaa garbage, pc is way better.

Performance isn't always what pc users chase, the eco system is just 10x better all around.

Console plebs forget there's a vast world of gamers out there who don't care about aaa slop, and that's really all the consoles are these days, a funnel for subscription services and aaa mainstream games, which are (imo) mostly just trash lately.

The PS5 pro will mog a $1000 PC in 2024.

Theres a couple wild cards with the Pro tho, it will have custom built hardware from Sony added both for RT and upscaling. And one thing people on PC don't often think about is that the PC ports of games are resource hogs compared to console versions. Generally it's easier to optimize for one hardware config vs a huge range of PC combinations.
All of that optimization is just turning settings down. You can do the same thing on PC.

Then why do people complain about PC ports being bad when Sony ports their games over?

They could just turn the settings down and have it be the exact version as the PS5 one right?

GPU rendering 45% faster than a PS5? Is roughly 6750xt performance.

All the optimizations are doing is figuring out what sliders have the most performance cost and the least visual impact and making them default settings. Given that a lot of people don't do this it is a nice feature, but it takes 15 minutes to do the same thing when you get a new game.

This system will game like a 5600 with a 6750xt. Not bad by any means, but easily to fit in the sub $1000 price point. We aren't in the middle of a Covid price hike and consoles will be like they always been. The best option for a gaming only set up if you don't have the budget to go higher.

That happens when a game was specifically designed only for the PS... All games that were designed for PC, Xbox, PS5 has that ability.

Sucks when it does, but is what it is.

Wrong. Here is a recent video using $500 in USED parts to be similar to a regular PS5.

People in the comments worked out new prices of those parts to be $850-950

So yes, a regular PS5 can fit in the sub $1000 price point, barely. A pro will be hundreds more.

What do you do on ps5 besides playing games?

Video apps such as netflix? Those look piss poor compared to the native apps on my oled.

Sweet. So 757 @ 4years after the release of the PS5. Also I'm guessing I won't be plugging it into my angus and controlling my PC with my sphincter so we're now over 800 adding in mouse and keyboard. I'm also not seeing a Blu-ray drive in there to play my movies and games, so you're comparing this to the digital PS5 which is even cheaper.

So again, that's a huge price difference not just today, but realizing the PS5 came out in 2020 so that PC spec would be even more in 2020.

Building a similar system to a PS5 Pro will be hundreds more. The pro uses an underclocked 7800 XT and that alone is easily over $500.

That $757 build is a comp for the PS5 PRO NOT THE PS5.

All reports are showing a GPU uplift of 45% over the PS5. The PS5 is roughly on par with a 2070S and a 6800 is 53% faster than a 2070s. CPU wise the 5700 non x is the closest comp, but the way it behaves is a little different.

I don't understand your hardon for debating this. The PS5 Pro is going to out perform a similar priced pc for gaming, but at the same time it will not out perform a modern mid-tier system.

I will probably buy one.

You're not beating a PS5 Pro for 757. It uses a 7800 xt as I said before, this has been confirmed in leaked specs.

The pro is likely to cost $600. You're telling me a $757 PC will beat it. You're on crack.

RTX 4080 is worth it, IMO, and I came from a 3080.

Had AMD in the past and always junked them. They are just not as good as nvidia IMO.

I have an OLED and my PS5 can play 4K Blu disks. Physical media is superior to streaming.

Top tier PCs that can run 4k, 60+fps, and ray tracing aren't expensive?? Last I checked, not even the $1500 4090 can do that.

I said it before, but there's really no point in PC gaming if it's gonna be marginally better than consoles. Might as well put $500 towards a console and save the extra cash.

yup

try exporting a 4k video on a low end rig and you'll hate yourself.. it would be one of those i'ma export it overnight as i sleep so when I wake up its done... vs I can export right now with this high end gear and be back and running in 20-30 minutes... and WAY less if I just do 1080p

HAHAHAHAHA this is hilarious.

Why do all that shopping going to random websites for parts when you can buy a PS5 Pro with a simple click from Best Buy?? PS5 will also get support for another 5 years easy, will that PC keep up for 5 years?

It's not worth the time. Just spend $500 and call it a day.

the PC will keep up in the same way a console will keep up. The parts inside of the PC will get you the same FPS in lets say Warzone today as it will playing the same warzone 5 years from now..

Will there be a game that pushes your rig's limits? yea of course there are plenty of unoptimized video games out there that don't look visually great but runs as if its cyberpunk with insane ray tracing turned on.

I mean yeah sure if you want to play indie games, Fortnite and COD, then you don't need a powerful PC.

But I want to run the best games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 4 at absolute max settings. And I want to take advantage of the numerous graphical and physical for new and old games.

Will there be a game that pushes your rig's limits? yea of course there are plenty of unoptimized video games out there that don't look visually great but runs as if its cyberpunk with insane ray tracing turned on.
I don't play games like COD and Fortnite. Of course a $500 bargain bin parts PC will run those.

It's not worth the time. Just spend $500 and call it a day.
Depends on how into gaming you are. If you just sit on the couch and play aaa offline single player slop then get a console and call it a day

If you play games actively with your friends even a mid pc is still better. Most mp games don't need the highest end hardware and the mp ecosystem on pc is so much better.

The only games you genuinely need the top tier hardware for is playing 4k aaa games.

Again console plebs don't understand there is a big world of gaming that doesn't include the biggest aaa mainstream games. Alot of people playing older mp and indies/retro and early access games just fine on mid tier systems.

But I want to run the best games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 4 at absolute max settings. And I want to take advantage of the numerous graphical and physical for new and old games.

OK but consoles aren't doing that either. What you want is reserved for the 1% willing to spend the money to have that. These are not the same people buying consoles or even mid tier systems. These people are buying xx90 series cards which cost more than most people's entire builds

No single player is actually better on PC considering Mods can fix the glitches, add things, and remove things. The only downside would be optimization from the developer.

Lets assume you are correct that it is a 7800xt equivalent. (I actually bet you are correct.)

The 7800xt has a power draw of 263 WATTS alone.
The PS5 Pro pulls a full system draw of 210 WATTS. Meaning GPU power is ~160 watts.

The power budget would completely explain how a PS5pro with 7800xt is only getting a 45% uplift.

That $757 system is a very close comp. This doesn't mean I am dogging on the PRO. You just swallowed the marketing.

Amazon, Newegg, and B&H.... not exactly hard shopping...

If you don't want to build a pc don't.... For only gaming the PS5 pro will be a fine option.

The point of the build was to show that the idea that this $600 PS5 pro is killing PC gaming isn't based in reality. The console will beat a $600 computer, but by $800 you are out pacing it.

Looks like you are missing out tbh

Bro I have been a gamer since the ps2 days and once I got a pc, I never looked back.

Sure I may have owned a xbox and ps4 (and also a ps3 during covid), but to me consoles are a novelty compared to pc gaming

Also pc gamers are more mature compared to consoles, too many kiddies on consoles imo

Pc gamers are more than half compared to all consoles lol

I swallowed the marketing by providing the correct GPU?

My only point here is that you're not spending 150 more and building a PC that's better than a PS5 Pro.

You couldn't do that with a regular PS5 in 2020 and you're not gonna do it now.

People with chit PCs are always complaining about that. But I don't play Sony games so idk.

$757 and can barely beat the PS5 Pro?? You're wasting your time and money. You also didn't mention blu ray, m&k, a separate controller, and a gaming headset. That's easily another $400.

Spend $600 and have $150 leftover for 2 new games or a head set.

By thinking a 7800xt at ~160 watts performed like a 7800xt at 263 watts you think you are in a different performance tier than you are. This is equivalent to thinking a laptop 4090 is the equivalent of a desktop 4090... NOPE.

That 7800xt is the equivalent of a full power RX6800.

I really don't get why you dug in here. Enjoy your PS5 Pro... It just isn't some super high powered piece of tech.

You also don't get a computer, spend more on games, and don't get to mod.

I think a PS5 pro is a fine choice. It is just comparable to an $800 computer... not the death to PC gaming.

(I really don't care. My PC is significantly stronger, but it was also $1500... I am also probably buying a PS5 pro).
