The one you linked is not for a 1080Ti anyway. It's for 1080 & 1070's.

This is the one you'd need (I don't see it on Amazon yet):

Also, sadly out of stock.

Worth noting is that people are saying the NZXT G10 Kraken w/water cooler will fit the 1080Ti:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1625361/n...gtx-1080-ti-fe

$29 each
https://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Kraken-R...zxt+g10+kraken

$76 each:
https://www.amazon.com/Kraken-Closed...2Bcooling&th=1

So for $105 each you could do it now.

Or get these for $60 each:
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Hydro...liquid+cooling

Puts your price at $89 per card. That's what I used on my GTX 980Ti's and they worked perfectly. FYI, you may need to put a copper shim or 2 between the GPU and the water block. On the 980ti's, the G10 was basically "flush/at the same height" as the water block, so it was sitting on the G10 housing instead of hitting the GPU. A couple copper shims filled in the gap and then it worked great. Just put a little thermal grease on each side of the shim to help them stick to each other & to the GPU & water block.

Always carry an extra tube with thermal paste.

I had to reinstall the G10 3-4 times... I didn't find a video with a 980Ti which covered a card that had pcb protection, like my MSI card has, until I had installed it twice, or thrice. After that video it was smooth sailing and the card & pcb cover were good.

What games is the PCMR playing currently? Wildcard just released a game changing patch to Ark that ruined the game for me, so I'll need to find a new game to waste time on.

DotA 2 and Fallout 4 is all I'm playing currently. Looking for something online, maybe a survival game, or a shooter? idunno.jpg

Need some halp. Bought a gtx 1070, everything is 10/10 except now one of my fans is loud when gaming. If i'm playing something minor like Dota 2 its perfectly quiet, but on newer games the fan gets pretty loud. (it's not coil noise or a weird sound, just the fan but really loud)

At first i thought it was the 1070 since it's the only thing i changed, but i tried stopping the fans while it was running and it's not it. it's not the cpu either, could it be the psu? it's a 600w psu and the 1070 was min 500w but i'm pretty sure it's the only fan left i'm not able to manually stop.

Which psu do you have?
Could be that it gets very warm and thus the fan spins up. If it's a cheap psu it's probably making some noise.

coolermaster 600w. is it normal going from a 500w gpu to another 500w that this could happen?

This is normal because your 1070 has to work harder with newer, more demanding games. Dota 2 has been out for a while now and my old 7870 can run that game on 1080p max settings @ 60 fps.

If it's too loud for your liking, you can download a program like MSI Afterburner to control the fan speeds at certain temps and also monitor your system's activity in-game. I set mine to monitor the current time, FPS, GPU core & memory clock, GPU temp, and CPU temp. It hovers on the left side of your screen which you can toggle on/off.

Edit: When you say fan, is it the 1070 fan(s) or the case fans?

I was using Afterburner before and didn't see anything unusual. Think i found out what it is tho. My PSU is 600w 70% efficiency, and not 10/10 quality by the looks of it. Time for another upgrade.. My guess is the 760 was just never using the same power even tho both GPUs claim the same power usage.

What's the model and rating of your PSU? I had a Corsair CX600 600W Bronze, a Cooler Master V700 700W Gold, and currently have an EVGA Supernova G3 850W Gold and their fans never seem to bother me.

This one i thinkhttps://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...82E16817171013can't even find a rating for it. The fan on this never bothered me before but must be too weak for the gtx 1070 sc. Think i'll go with a evga 750 or something.

Is there a big difference between the Supernova and other versions? Wouldn't mind saving $40 but depends on the difference.

Oh damn, yes you need a new PSU. What's your budget? A quality 600W unit should be plenty.

Edit: Currently on sale, it's only 550W but has a gold rating and it's Seasonic:https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...19&ignorebbr=1

What's the rest of your system look like? If you plug in your PC components at PCPartPicker (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/), it'll help you estimate your system's power requirements. The Supernova is basically the premium lineup from EVGA. You can also use this as a reference even though it needs some updating:http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id...tier-list.htmland you'll see it's in the 'Tier 1' category.

To make it simpler, brands like Seasonic, Corsair, and EVGA (to name a few), typically offers reliable PSUs. Of course they're not perfect, but the probability of getting a quality product is high. Not to mention they have 7-12 yr warranties included. Forgot to mention non-modular vs semi/full modular. Modular ones are more expensive but makes cable management a lot easier.
We’re all gonna make it.

It's probably more an issue of amperage. The 1070 takes a minimum of 16 amps, 180w. Your PSU has 2 12v rails, each at 18 amps, but if they're not putting out the amount of amperage they should be (at 18 they're pretty borderline for that card) then you're experiencing dips on the low end of what the card needs.

Usehttp://www.jonnyguru.com/to find a proper psu.

Even cheap psus can be very good. You do not need 750W to drive the 1070.

EVGA Supernova G2 550W
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...tory6&reid=440

Scoring 10/10 in everything.

On sale for $79.99,https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-053-_-Product.

Would it be a waste of money to buy an 802.11ad wi-fi router at this point?

I'm still running the same 802.11n router I've had for 10 years

Unless you're transferring files over an internal network at breakneck speeds, then you can't utilize 802.11ad anywhere near its fullest potential.

Nope, new card. Takes the crown back from the 1080ti. It's official name is Titan XP, the old one was just a titan x, pascal based.

I wonder how much faster than the 1080Ti it could realistically be. 5-10% tops? BRB, shelling out an additional $500 per card for that %.
