Lol that's kind of a dirty play by Nvidia. Releasing the world's fastest card (1080Ti) a month ago and the releasing another new world's fastest after a month.
Kind of fu*cked the hardcore enthusiasts since a lot of them just bought the 1080Tis.

The 1080ti is still hands down the winner here.

Yeah, at $1200, the Titan XP is in no way worth the price premium. Most reviews I read said it was like 5% faster than a 1080Ti and it's $500 more.. lol. Totally not worth it. If they were like $800-850, I could see it.

Technically they have AMD as their lone competition but sadly, they dont have competition on flagship cards for like 2 years now. Fury was released in 1st half of 2015.
Really hoping for Vega to succeed and compete just to put Nvidia grounded at least.

For casual gamers yes. And its more practical than the Xp. But for people like Instantbro and others who want the best card regardless of the price, its kind of dirty for Nvidia to do this to them.

Ok, imagine IF and only IF, Vega turn out to be faster than Ti and matching Xp for a price of $600. Nvidia then will bring down Xp's price to about $700. Then they will really fu*ck up people who bought the Ti for $800+.

Well that's if Vega will reach Xp's level though.

Typical nVidia.

Anyways, gonna pull the trigger on some Corsair LPX 3000 Mhz ddr4 ram today and a MSI X370 SLI Plus today.
Gonna mail Noctua my receipt and get the am4 brackets mailed to me.

So ready for R5 1600.

(I would rather buy ASRock mobos for AM4 because they are pushing out bioses so often none of the competition meets it, but they are so expensive or not in stock or they look absolutely hideous.)

I got a hold on the Nvidia schedule of releases guys!

May 6 - Titan Ultra
June 6 - Titan X Ultra
July 6 - Titan X Ultra p(smallp)
Aug 6 - Titan X Ultra P(bigP)

Seriously, I kinda heard somewhere something about the faster Titan which is the Ultra.
We are in for a good year with Nvidia guys!

Does evga let you step up from reference to aftermarket? I'm assuming no otherwise everyone would just buy fe then step up

You can't step up from the same GPU (like you can't trade a 1080Ti for another version of the 1080Ti).

Grab a hybrid card when they come out or a kit if you already have a founders edition. Looking at the reviews and even the aftermarket ones with the giant heatsinks and fans are still reaching north of 70 degrees at load. This card just gets super hot I guess.

Not totally true, in simple terms advancements in chip technology mean smaller transistors which mean less power needed and so more powerful cards using the same amount of electrickery. Advancements in architecture also make them more efficient, some of the latest top end cards are more efficient than last gens mid range cards.

It's which an i7 7700K doesn't need a heatsink the size of a room when it's must faster than chips from ten years ago.

Anyone know where to buy tubing/coolant like this?

I've looked on overclock.net for parts and guides, but it seems a lot of those guys actually build that **** from Home Depot equipment.

Looking for something more simple to assemble

lol. It isn't from Home Depot. Sure some have but majority buy PETG tubing and bend their tube to complete their runs. I use Mayhem's White UV Pastel followed by Mayhem's Laser Green UV dye and Emerald Green Dye. I bought 80% of my stuff fromwww.ekwb.com. I bought all my fittings and tubing from Amazon. My radiators and coolant were bought from Performance PC.

New card en route' to replace my R9 290... sold it on Craigslist for $160, so just a little over $200 to upgrade to a 1070 isn't too shabby. Based on some testing vs the 290x (which is faster), I should be seeing a 50-100% increase title to title. notbad.jpg.

The 1080 diminishing returns on price\performance just isn't worth it. Also my first ever Nvidia card, I've had a 4850, 4870 and then the R9... never gone green until now. They just have such a big edge on the higher end chips.

I also sold my old i5 4670k motherboard and RAM for $400 to upgrade to a ryzen 1700. Also not ****in bad lol. About $450 out of pocket for brand new mid-high end parts is pretty dang good.
