Sold my OLED to my boy, sorry boys - I'm out until Unicorn Overlord comes out (which I will borrow it) or until Switch 2 hits. Hope the Sw2 is backwards compatible, have to have 40+ games lying around now, most played somewhat but some in the backlog.

finished odyssey today. all i have to say is thank god i played spyro and songebob before playing this. otherwise the bar would have been set to high and i wouldnt have enjoyed them

hands downy favorite platformer of all time. better than mario 64 and mario galaxy.my only complaint was the aiming was wonky during the tank segments

it reignited my desire to play nintendo games and in getting mario wonder and 3d world on boxing day

I bought it back for Unicorn Overlord (my GotY). Traded my kid a standard Switch and his ps4 pro burnt out so I also threw in a normal PS4. Got a pretty cool grip thing it fits into, I like it a lot more than even the oversized 'joycon' grips because it's all one piece and feels firm in my hands.

Cons:

- 30fps on console and has bad resolution, it looks like 1080p or something
- controls are confusing to get the hang of
- everything is slow, from animations to constantly having to tap X to move fast on the horse.
- gameplay/shooting isn't the most fun due to fps limits


Still really good so far. I've had it in my backlog waiting on a 60fps patch but seems like I'd wait forever so might as well get it over with.

I remember back when it was mentioned on old misc, but didn't get to it until last year when it came to PS plus. Holy fuck did I love that game! It scratched that SRPG itch just right! The story was passable, but the gameplay was superb. I want a sequel, and will keep an eye on vanillaware from now on.
