First time I've been in here since around Sept last year, sold off half my build because I couldn't be bothered, sucked back in with a cheap build. Still had my i5 4690k + mobo from my old build so bought some cheap HyperX RAM and an RX 480 8GB that are coming today.

I don't even have a case, it's just sitting on my mobo box lol.

I've stopped upgrading every new release, I went from a 980 to 1070 but regretted it. Was too late as my 980 was gone so I've got a RX 480 now lol.

Well I was going to wait but I got a new monitor over xmas so I needed the extra performance. I am pretty good at where I am right now. Will upgrade once 4k 144hz becomes mainstream in a couple years.

Double post..

Ok so the RX 480 is good, solid 60fps in every game I tried so far but the sound in Steam games is absolutely terrible... Low quality, hardly hear it, very static. Anyone have any ideas?

Sound in steam games? Is your sound coming through your monitor speakers?

Do you have a dedicated soundcard or external amp/dac? Have you tried updating your sound drivers from your motherboard manufacturer?

No using the onboard mobo sound and yes they are updated, I downloaded and installed them direct from Asus this morning.

am i the only one who hates PC lighting? i leave my PC on overnight, so i dont want any lighting interfering with my REM sleep nomsayin? even the glow from my razer mouse is too much. all black PC components + no lighting crew.

This my PC is in my office and it goes off every night. It boots so fast I see no reason to leave it on.

I love my PC lighting, except when I'm trying to watch a movie in an otherwise dark room. Gotta put clothing items on my keyboard so the illumination doesn't reflect on the monitors.

Otherwise I always send my PC to sleep for the night, so it doesn't bother me.

Turn the LEDs off with Corsair Utility, that's what I do if I'm watching a film.

Interesting. I'll consider it when it comes around, but **** paying for a 1080 ti, too damn expensive. Maybe if I can sell the 1070 on craigslist for a small loss I'd consider upgrading, we'll see what the performance ends up being.

Stuff always gets cheaper over time, every 6-12 months there is always something "faster better newer". You can't always be at the top of the curve unless you want to spend insane money.
