Best controller in 2026?
I prefer my PS5 controller slightly over my Xbox Series controller. Feel like they've really perfected the controllers this gen. The Xbox d-pad is 10/10 tho srs.
PS4 controller always felt like cheap plastic. I was thinking of getting an 8bitdo Ultimate 2C controller next. I have their Sega Genesis controller and it feels fooking premium

Been using gamesir controllers for a year or so now. Currently using the gamesir cyclone 2.
Has pretty much everything, including gyro.
Has software to custom map buttons and map keyboard buttons to controller buttons. In apex legends that macro allows me to utilize 1 button for superglides instead of 2 buttons. The software works on pc and they have a Microsoft app in the Xbox store so it works on Xbox also.
Absolutely dunks on every other controller I've tried. Even the 200 dollar Xbox elite I bought

If it breaks buying a new one is still cheaper than most of the competitors like Xbox elite or scuf or whatever
I've been through a ton of controllers since switching to roller in apex legends and none have held a candle to the gamesir controllers I've had

Sony controllers used to be great back in the PS1 and PS2 gens, but the PS3 controllers were garbage, it's crazy how many old PS3 controllers I have had that stopped working, like it's legitimately hard to find a good working authentic PS3 controller these days. Meanwhile it seems like every old 360 controller I have still works perfectly fine. PS4 controllers were always gimmicky, they felt cheap, and all the "innovations" were stupid, unneeded, and barely used. At least they seem more reliable but I have had a few fail over the years. Xbox One controllers always felt higher quality and they actually came up with a great idea having vibration feedback for the triggers, which felt great before Sony came up with their adaptive triggers.
With the PS5 I think Sony struck gold with their adaptive triggers, a great innovation desperately needed. They also feel much higher quality than the PS3 and PS4 controllers and seem to hold up better as well. Xbox controllers haven't really gone anywhere since the Xbox One, the Series controllers always felt like they were basically the same only with a few quality improvements here and there.
I think the Dualsense Edge and Xbox Elite 2 controllers are where it's really at. Both feel great, but I have to say the Elite has far better battery life than the Edge and more fully featured customization as well, but the Edge has some great tricks like it's replaceable analog sticks and it's function buttons which work a lot better than the Elite's programmable configuration button. It's like I really love the way the Elite feels and how long it's battery lasts, but the Edge has really become my favorite controller this gen.

I miss the old Jay, the hater Jay, the fanboy Jay.
On topic though, the Dualsense is the best controller for me, with its adaptive triggers and haptics, when they're done well they really elevate the feel of games. However since I'm on PC these days I just use a regular xbox series x controller which is nice .... I could prolly go dualsense but half the time it feels like sometimes button prompts and shit dont really line up and xbox controller buttons seems to be the default for almost every game so its just easier. Havnt really been too interested in buying the elite or edges because I cant justify the price and I'm not a sweatster so it seems like a waste to buy for my needs.

Since this is about controllers, is it worth it to buy a PS5 Edge controller to better play against sweats in COD, or will I feel stupid paying 200 for the controller that is marginally better? Srs.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
