Do You Want Cody Rhodes to Beat Roman/Become the WWE Undisputed Champion?

By now, I think we know he is beating him due to Cody's politicking(contract). But who knows? Maybe not in Mania. But anyway, do you actually want him to be champ?

On one hand, many hates Roman as much as many loves him. They say he is boring, and have been champion for too long.

On the other, many say Cody isn't a main eventer, that despite his great HiaC match, he is a mid carder at best.

How about you, do you want to see Cody as champion?

Nope. Cody's story is "I deserve the belt because Vince made my daddy wear polka dots. I am wrestling royalty!" He had like 2 matches and was out injured all year. Then he was given the 30 spot at an extremely underwhelming Rumble. This is all heel stuff. This is Charlotte Flair stuff. Why end Roman's title run on Cody?

The story they been telling for a year has been with Sami. I agree Sami is not world champ material (neither is Cody so that's a wash), but he is the guy to take the title off Roman specifically. This is the best long term story since the Mega-Powers exploded. Now Imagine if they told the story of the Mega Powers exploding for over 2 years, but then the main event of Wrestlemania 5 was Macho Man vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Time to take the belt off Roman Reigns at Mania, so it has to be Cody.

But can't see Cody keeping the title for long, after Mania, Roman enters into a long non-title feud with Sami, Cody loses the title to Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins should be the next top face of the company, I would keep the world title on him for a fairly long period.

However if the world title is split into two again, one champ should be face Seth Rollins, other heel Bray Wyatt.

lol @ Bray Wyatt.
How many time does this guy need to fail for people to give up on him. He has not doesn't any good work since back when he had Harper and Rowan. Everything else he does turns to wrestlecrap.

Cody’s story is that he was miserable being a dancing clown for Vince, who didn’t think he could cut it, so he quit and set out to prove them wrong. He did that and then ended up becoming an executive vp on a new startup that got national television where he was one of the biggest ratings draws, and then he left because he wanted to accomplish something neither his father or brother could do.

Sammi Zayn is a goof that some fans got behind because the fish out of water element with the bloodline was entertaining. But at the end of the day, everyone needs to realized a court jester can’t beat a king. So it’d be pointless for Wrestlemania.

In that case, Cody should still not be the guy to take the title of Roman. Cody left WWE to become the biggest fish in a small pond. Now he's back in the big leagues. Roman should put him down to prove that WWE is the best. Like that time Sting though he could hang with the big boys, but he lost every match!

Bray has done more good work than Roman has. The Fiend and Firefly Funhouse were actually interesting and got over organically.

I still think most of the BS had been WWE screwing him and not his fault. He didn't decide on the Hell In A Cell finish, he didn't decide to drop the title to Goldberg in a squash, and I'm sure he didn't ask Mountain Dew to sponsor his comeback match.

Cody Rhodes is World Champion material.

However, Cody Rhodes is portraying kiss ass corporate goon right now.

Also, as much as I don't feel Roman deserved the title in the first place, now that he has it, he might as well hold it until he surpasses Stone Cold for number of days the title has been held.

Cody is good on the mic, but when the suit comes off he's still a 184lb twink and lacks believability.

Needs to be a triple threat with Sami, Cody, and Roman. Cody pins Sami and turns heel. He's boring as a face (most faces are, tbh).

no, not world champion material.

The marketing machine telling a narrative of his 'boy hood dream' (borrowed from hbk) while reflecting on his families contribution to wrestling as a whole is manipulative. He was the same guy as star dust that was midcard at best; he was behind orton in their little faction and even jumping to aew didnt last long for him. Other than wwe creating momentum and discussion for him to be mainevent level, i cant recall any particular moment where I thought 'this guy has IT'

plus he has lisp so his promos make me laugh

Cody is a 6.5 / 10.

Not bad but only quite good.

Putting him at number 30 in the RR has done him no favours.

The stuff about his dad is pretty genuine. I don't get HBK vibes whatsoever. Even if you want to say they're "borrowing" from that story, it's been 27 years. i think we can move on from that and give this new story a chance.

resisting (dismissing) the Cody Rhodes/WWE title chase story comes off as stubborn to me. like just refusing to accept today's guys. same deal with Roman as a top heel. it's good material, you just won't allow yourself to enjoy the show.

He made millions on the independents and in AEW where he was one of the biggest tv ratings draws every week. Him leaving demonstrably hurt AEW in drawing tv ratings.

And currently, he’s the number one merchandise seller and the house shows he’s been advertised on have sold out.

He’s currently a bona fide star and draw.

His initial WWE run was no good, other than being a Legacy lackey for Orton everything else he did wasn't very important/good like Stardust and Dashing Cody Rhodes. But this American Nightmare stuff is actually pretty decent, a lot of it has to do with him being presented as a star with the entrance, cool nickname and the theme music etc.

Is this enough to take down the greatest of this generation, The Tribal Chief...?

As much as many people trash Roman, his wrestling skills are far more entertaining than Cody’s. People usually ignore that and focus on Reign’s poor mic skills.

Cody is decent in the ring but quite boring too. And his attacks are weak looking, probably cant even beat Solo.

This is true since Roman is a face. Roman tried to get justice for Ezekiel by beating down the evil fat and smelly Kevin Owens.

Yeah, what the heck is Cross Rhodes anyway? How is it supposed to hurt? Is it supposed to be a neck breaker? It's just some fancy spinning, but impact. It looks like it should hurt Cody more than the opponent.

Reigns never beat Shaq.

A lot of guys tried to get that match & Rhodes is the one who closed that deal.

nor did Roman help make AEW what it is

I'll pull back the curtain here, The American Nightmare, just like his father, The American Dream, helped build this business in ways Roman never will.

Roman took a position in an existing environment.

Rhodes creates the environment.
