Gunther has been the Intercontinental champion since the June 10th 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown. It appears that Gunther’s push will continue with Twitter account @WrestleVotes noting the following to Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport.com…

“Triple H loves him. They all love him ever since he came into his own at Clash at the Castle. I’m not just talking about Triple H, Road Dogg is big on him, Jason Jordan really likes him.”

“Once WWE gets two World titles, you double the amount of people in the main event. Gunther is ready to step up. I expect by the summer to see him at the top of the card. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins a World title. He might be next in line.”

I support this. Hopefully he destroys Cody and gets the title from that loser. But I really hope Roman retains - Roman vs Gunther... Bloodline vs Imperium would be great!

Also, amazing how Gunther lost a lot of weight. Or is he Walter's younger brother?

Much rather Gunthar be the one to de-throne Roman.
I hope Roman wins at Wrestlemania. He can keep the belts till next Wrestelmania when they find someone better than Cody as an opponent.

At this point they're so onto making Roman look strong, I think the only way we'll get either title off of him is with a superface-booker moment where Vince comes and says "Roman, no one man can beat you in one night, so you must defend both titles in separate matches on the same night!"

Then Roman defends the 1st but is too tired to defend the 2nd.

Another way to do that is to go back to having separate "Money in the Bank" ladder matches for brand-specific champions so you have 2 MITB holders both gunning for Roman at the same time, since having a single one (Theory) wasn't enough.

Can believe the Gunther support behind the scenes, but why do they treat the rest of Imperium like jobbers!

Roman is strong, but he's not booked as unbeatable. He's no Bianca Belair, booked to take on swarms of enemies without a problem. Roman is strong, but he also is not above cheating. In fact, he frequently has to resort to cheating to win. You could easily book anyone to beat Roman without them having to be superheroes.
Lets use this year as an example. Lets say we have the standard ref bump. Usos run out to help Roman, but they are intercepted by Sami. Sami cleans house with some chair shots. With Sami's vow to take down the Bloodline, a cheating good guy won't be too bad since we have seen the Bloodline cheat time and time again. In this scenario Sami gets closure, and Dumb Mid-carder Cody gets the title.
