Punk was a larger-than-average fish in a small pond. He would have been squashed in the '90s, but he did very well in 2000-2010s PG WWE. His promos were just on another level even if his character was dull.

Disagree 1,000,000% regarding his promos. His shtick of breaking character and airing dirty laundry publicly... aka mic drop, proved he couldn't cut the mustard. Think about who would be on the Mount Rushmore of promos and ask yourself if they ever broke character or cut promos the way Punk did. Hogan? Macho Man?, Jake the Snake?, Flair,? Stone Cold? Superstar Billy Graham?, Jesse the Body? Bruno?

Did it ever occur to Punk to stick to the story and stick to the lines and deliver it, the best way possible?

He's not in Hogan's league, so I can see why Bischoff would take exception there. Although, when it comes to Bischoff and Hogan, we should all be so lucky in life if we ever find anyone who loves us as much as Bischoff loves Hulk Hogan.

On Punk being average: Nope, not even close. He's a high level talent. He just also comes off as kind of a diva. Talent-wise, he's great. Not a big guy at all and not a crazy performer like Omega or HBK, but super on the mic and if you give him a good story and someone to work with, he will deliver.

There is a reason he creates so much buzz, he's special. I hate his politics and I'm sure I would not enjoy being around someone like him for too long, but as a wrestler he is somewhere below truly greats like Hogan or Cena, but not by miles. I'd rate him somewhere below that second tier of guys like Macho or Sting, but only just below them (and then, only because he's got glaring weaknesses like his physique and size).Punk came up in a post steroids scandal era. If he'd been around in the 90s, he'd been juiced up just like everyone else and been fine.
