If Brian Pillman Did Not Die...

would he really be one of the best of all time as many in the industry or even fans said?

I forgot which show/podcast it was.... probably Bruce or Cornette or even both, but I remember people saying if Pillman didn't die, he would be a big deal. Even fans say the same thing. Do you agree?

Or is it just one of those things people say when someone dies? They basically said the same thing about Guererro, Benoit, Owen, Kanyon, Viscera... if they didn't die, would have been one of the GOATs, etc.

Also, if he didn't got into that accident, you think he would really sign with WWE? Or will he honor his deal with Bischoff/WCW, that if I remember, would have given him more money but reasses him every few months.

Another thing, his son signed with AEW. Many fans at /SquaredCircle said he is great, but that was over a year ago. I don't watch AEW, how is he doing now? He really doing good?

His ankle would have likely held him back from being a main eventer. It was hurting more than he let on.

poor guy. signed a WWF contract. partied too hard to celebrate then car wreck made him debut on crutches, with an IV in his arm, and over 100 vicodens per day.

if not for that car accident though i think wwf would have had confidence in pushing him.

his son is not as great as him at all. Outside of the family name

If he lived his ankle would’ve taken him out of the game.

The ankle was fused into a permanent forward facing position. He was doing some top rope moves still which lawler and Jim Ross cringed in pain whenever he insisted on doing risky maneuvers because of it.

He couldn’t turn his foot at all but climbed the ropes still

OK maybe I should have asked if not for that accident instead of if he did not die. Would he have been the next Austin?

Speculation time :

Had Pillman not Died while still in wwe, he would have eventually made a big name for himself despite limitations physically. he was a genius during that particular era, for getting out of wcw , making a name very quickly as 'the loose canon' and then jumping to wwe's attitude era with an immediate connection to stone cold steve austin he had a rocket on his back. Not to mention at the time he was in an angle with dustin runnels / terri runnels who he really dated in real life, his association with the hart family on screen etc, he was a made man even if he were to just be an announcer it would have been amazing

had he not gotten injured, he and Austin would have had a long back and forth over the wwe title no doubt. not only did he have 'it' in character, he could also wrestle and work a crowd.
