WM 39 Best WM For 20 Years

Only seen night one-but already easily the best one since WM 19 in 2003.

I still prefer Mania to be one night myself. That way, I only feast one and not become a whale.

Yeah, they could try to fit in all matches in one night and do rest of the stuff (wrestlers who don't get matches on WM) on RAW or SD before or after WM.

Somewhere I read there were talks of having WM40 as a three night PPV, kinda crazy but it's possible considering how stacked the roster is at the moment.

I think NXT event and 2 WM is more than enough.

I wonder if most people at WM night 1 are the same as night 2 though. One of these days, I will attend WM.

I would never count NXT shows as main shows, so I would not count that anyways...

Although I myself would find 3 night WM crazy, but I was kinda awe-struck how WWE could pull it off with the current roster...if we count the wrestlers stuffed in WM showcase matches and Battle Royal SD...Bobby Lashley and The Miz didn't get important matches on WM...and that was missing injured AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bray Wyatt..all ex-world champs...who have been part of world title matches on WM before and could still pull off a decent to good match...

WM17 and WM19 are the best WM's ever and it would be hard to tell which one was better...but WM19 might win coz of better/bigger card...

WM20, WM24 were close, but just not there.

Yep 17 was epic. 19 would be second for me, 10 probably third. Most modern ones are pretty unmemorable.

I found 19 pure overrated and seen it live. There were better Rock vs Austin matches in the past (Backlash 1999 and WM 17 main event were way better). HBK vs Y2J had way better matches in 2008. Angle vs Lesnar felt short, it was good, not great and remembered best for the botch but was nothing compared Angle vs Benoit at Royal Rumble that year. Hogan vs McMahon would be nothing without weapons.

WrestleMania 21 is by far the most underrated one. Epic first MITB ladder match. Taker vs Orton and Rey vs eddie were solid. Batista vs HHH main event was underrated. I agree Cena vs JBL was terrible, but which event doesn't have one terrible match, even Wm 17 had Chyna vs Ivory. And never forget one of the greatest wrestling match ever Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels, very few Icon vs Icon matches live up to their hype but this exceeded all expectations, was perfect from start to finish and the ending HBK bravely fighting the ankle lock was amazing but ultimately tapped out to Angle who was the better performer that night among two of the GOATs ever in the ring. If you think WM 39 is better than WM 21 you are blind.

Also WrestleMania 28 was amazing. Sheamus vs Bryan was short, but made a great angle and they made it up with the awesome 2 out of 3 falls count match at Extreme Rules that year. Every match after that was well done. The three big matches HHH vs Taker HIAC match (that was pure perfection best HIAC match in pg age and HHH even bladed if I remember right and HBK's superkick converted to HHH's pedigree and Taker kicking out was great), Punk vs Jericho was outstanding both great athletes with so much in the tank throwing it all needing no gimmick and putting a master piece. And finally Rock vs Cena, the WM 28 match was far better than their WM 29 rematch which was a finisher feast and Rock was too gassed. At WM 28 Rock didn't miss a step, he showed shades of his past and threw in everything and Cena put a valiant effort and they truly threw a toe to toe Icon vs Icon match like Hogan vs Rock at WM 18, and Rock's shoking win had the Miani crowd happier than they had been in years.

Your current bias for Wm 39 is a phenomenon called "Recentism", recent good events making you forget the past. But WM 21 and Wm 28 were far superior events in everyway. But however there is no doubt nothing can topple WrestleMania 17 as the best wrestling event ever (the TLC match, Angle vs Benoit, HHH vs Taker, gimmick battle royal Rock vs Austin) it was truly the pinnacle of the WWF.

This is what happens when you have more than 4 weeks to build up to a PPV. It allows more time for storylines to develop. Shocking isnt it?

I hated when WWE went to 12 PPVs per year to copy what WCW was doing. It's oversaturation, not enough time for storylines to develop and many times we'll get a rematch the next night on RAW.

I would be good with the big 4 and maybe 1 or 2 others for special occasions.

Just curious Jimbob, which are your top 3 favorite matches of WM39?
