Gordon Murray Automotive is releasing the GOAT hypercar

The T.50

No bullchit, super light, McLaren F1-esque styling and central driving position, super high-revving NA V12, stick shift manual transmission. It's perfect.

I have a client with an order for the T33

He also has allocations for the Valhalla, a Valkyrie and one other bespoke Aston Martin.

Walked into Miller Motorcars and dropped $3.5M in deposits

The T.33 Spider looks amazing as well. Standard T.33 is probably a dope ass road going supercar, but the T.50 definitely looks a lot more special.

Yeah I'd love to drop 2.5 mil for an uglier McLaren F1 with none of the charm.

He didn't like the T50 and thought the aesthetics of the 33 were cleaner. He has race cars, mostly GT2RS, GT3RS, GT4 and an original 914. He also has a Renault Turbo 2, Alpina A110 race car and an original Lancia Stratos and Delta S4 from the Class B days of rallying. Dude is a serious collector.

Actually, upon further thought, I think the camera-style rear-view mirrors are a miss, and also the power windows aren't great (should have been manual crank windows, especially considering the driver could theoretically reach the crank handles on both doors from sitting in the middle)

Gordon was saying the negative impact on aero was HUGE with regular rear-view mirrors, but I think that's less important than the analog theme of the car... OR just make the rearview mirrors to aid in downforce and/or overall aero benefit.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the electric windows were lighter than manual ones.

Yeah, I can respect someone like that staying true to their taste. A T.33 Spider would essentially be a dream car for me, probably lower maintenance than the T.50, more practical to drive on the road, and you can hear that glorious engine more with the roof removed.

That doesn't really make sense as power windows need window motors, while manual crank is more simple, but I bet the difference probably isn't that big of a deal. I bet the racing version of the T.50 has manual windows though.

This is true in the Lotus Elise/Exige. Some of the first Elise came with hand crank windows. Lotus engineers figured out they could make a power mechanism and make it even lighter.

I am a huge fan of lightweight cars which is why I fell in love with Lotus. The T50 looks truly incredible!

That's what I thought. I'm sure Gordon Murray came to the same conclusion. Once you get rid of the hand crank parts and replace it with a small electric motor, it's bound to save some weight. If designed right. Which is the key sentence.
