This...plus I think Munger's and Buffett's big issue with gold and crypto is that you can't figure out their intrinsic value since these commodities don't produce anything. So in their eyes purchasing either is akin to speculating

This ^ and they probably realize that the US will never allow crypto to take hold as an actual currency as they cant manipulate it.
