I’d of thought not too but they’re paying 1.20$ this month. Now at around 10$ worth of dividends per share for the year

if it was me I would add up all the dividends i have received and see if that number is the same, greater or at least close to how much money i lost on this garbage scam stock, if i can get out green, even or even remotely close to even i’d get the **** out and count my blessings, consider that a lesson to never invest in dividend traps, anytime you see a dividend greater than 8%, it’s a scam. This is a basic rule.

ETF investments in general are garbage unless you’re talking about SPY and QQQ, and only if you are a completely passive investor, and you do not wish to do any stock picking of your own ever,

There are vastly superior bitcoin proxies like Mstr clsk sol and even the Blackrock ETF. And since you know how to sell covered calls on it, assuming you sell the right ones at the right time you’re going to make a killing even in the sideways market.

Remember, microstrategy has outperformed NVDA , think about that, clean spark was two dollars, and recently hit $20, and this is without any dividends or covered calls, Sol was eight dollars, which seems like a few weeks ago, it was knocking on the door of $200 not long ago, and it’s going back up there and Much much higher,

Not hating or giving advice, just ranting about what I would do in such a situation, whatever you choose good luck, obviously. Much love and all that. Not hating.

I did the math plus covered calls I’m up 400$, I’ve considered getting out but by reinvesting the dividends I’ve got my cost basis down to 24$ and you keep telling me Bitcoin is about to take off so shouldn’t I wait a little bit and see if BITO can go back to 30$? Also just so you know BITO just started paying a dividend last year but the ETf has been around since like 2020 so can you call it a dividend trap? Also been eyeing QDTE and XDTE they pay dividends weekly and the stock price has barely moved which is good. These high yield dividend stocks just started being created so can you really confidently call them scams?from my understanding you are basically investing in a fund that sells covered calls for you, yea you could just buy the stock and sell covered calls yourself but not everyone has the experience to do that

When bitcoin pops microstrategy is your 2X or 3X leverage etf, it pops massively, whether for a daytrade or a long-term swing trade or even for your permanent long-term investing. No other bitcoin proxy moves anywhere remotely as much as micro strategy when bitcoin pops, in some circumstances bitcoin miners can do that, but their movement is dependent on some other factors as well. CLSK is the best miner, some miners are not good, so be careful.

Generally speaking when a company offers a dividend, it means they don’t know where or how to reinvest their money, it means they stopped growing, it means it’s time for you to get out as there are better growing stocks out there.

If you are at retirement age, and need to de-risk and need a constant cash flow, then you should be in stuff like Microsoft, because it’s still growing slowly, you can sell covered calls, it’s safe, and sometimes these companies even offer some little ****ty dividend for your bill paying.

The issue with ETFs is a lot of people have to get paid before you get your check, so you’re always better off selling covered calls yourself, besides they often have very unfortunate rules which diminish the returns, for example, the fund can have the rule that they’re selling covered calls for you on 1/3 of their position 30 days out at 30 Delta on the first of each month, well this may very well be a very bad idea, so again, you’re better off selling covered calls yourself.

But again, these are all educated guesses, nothing more, bito may do very well. It’s just that I personally think there are better options.

Why does microsyrategy go up when Bitcoin goes up? Just bc they have Bitcoin on their balance sheet? How does that help you as a share holder? Are they going to pay you some of that Bitcoin through a dividend?Never really understood microstrategy

Basically, Michael Saylor, founder and CEO of microstrategy has realized that he can use the old “buy borrow die” trick on bitcoin.

The “buy borrow die” strategy is a financial strategy all wealthy people and other financially smart people use, it’s a way to avoid taxes and stay invested in markets such as stocks and real estate while still being able to buy things you want, so instead of buying $100,000 car, You would actually just borrow money and get the car, this way you never have to sell any of your real estate or your stocks, and yes, you will pay interest for borrowing that money, but that interest is tax deductible and your investments go up more than the interest, so that’s the basis of the strategy, after you die your children take over both your assets and your debt,

well, Michael Saylor just realized that he can do the same with bitcoin, he borrowed some money, he buys bitcoin, puts it on the balance sheet of his company, Because of that, his company stock price goes up, which means that various ETFs have to now purchase more of the stock to meet their allocation requirements, that makes the stock of his company go up, which means that he can now borrow even more money with which he buys even more bitcoin, This never ends, he basically found some kind of a hack, some kind of a money glitch lol and so when bitcoin goes up, micro strategy goes up a lot more because every time bitcoin goes up he’s actually borrowing to buy a lot more bitcoins, it’s not just one for one ratio, micro strategy is like a call option on the future of bitcoin,

One thing I have to mention though is that it’s not a great idea to go all in on MSTR, these are very volatile and very risky investments, I would not dare put more than 5% of my portfolio in MSTR, if it grows as it did in my case to Third or half of my portfolio, fine, but it’s a smart idea to take some profits and not be irresponsible, it’s just weird to buy a lot of something that has already gone up thousands of percent. So I wanna be very clear that I’m not recommending you buy micro strategy, personally I am only buying it when bitcoin pumps for day trades or swing trades, and I do have a long-term position that I’m selling covered calls on and some I just hold.

It’s something like 1.5% down, and only 56% of the time LOL, which is nothing, and in the election year September is actually historically positive.

Yeah, I checked out these claims, and as always people are full of crap, as far as Tom Lee goes, as long as you understand that his opinion means exactly as much as flipping a coin, he doesn’t know, he’s making an educated guess, he’s going to be Correct exactly 50% of the time just like you and me when it comes to short and medium term market timing predictions.

Man, some of these prices are so juicy, Google and AMD are a buy right here right now, as well as some crypto related assets,

Idk man he’s a pretty respected analyst compared to the rest of them, I’d put his track record around 75 percent, he did hide for a bit when we had that mini crash back but he was back on tv a couple days later saying the market would recover and it did

Don't mind me just here for my weekly WBA new 52w low

Abzu you start buying long dated calls yet or nah? Hit 8.90 and closed below $9 today. Didn't move my 2026 $15c too much tbh. IV still pretty high @60 considering what it is. I bet this hits a low in the $7.XX range. Probably not for long, but seems likely at this rate. They haven't even scaled their dividend back yet which will punish share price more for whatever reason.
