Any updates on debate? Who win?

I was hoping someone here could say... seems like there is a ton of bias everywhere. Can't listen to what people on regular misc say. Not interested in reading anything most main stream media says... I should check reuters. That is one of my preferred sources on political stuff as they manage to stay fairly neutral.

As someone who's balls deep in Fannie and Freddie the debate was pretty much kamala not answering anything just bashing Trump and Trump just rambling and bashing Joe.

The media is already spinning it as a Harris baits Trump into saying blank blank blank and Harris wins but I don't think the debate helped or hurt either of them they essentially performed as anyone who's been keeping up with politics would expect.

After the debate though betting odds are shifting from slightly in trumps favor to about a toss up or slightly in kamalas favor depending on the site.

On a different note looks like TLT's on track to cross 101 tmrw with expectations that we might actually get a 0.5% decrease next week.

Another thing to consider is that even if S&P 500 is red, it doesn’t mean that things we should be investing in are going to be Red, google, Amazon, even Nvidia, all undervalued here, Tesla, FSLR, enph, severely undervalued.

Defensive plays not looking good here either. Kr looking to touch $50 before earnings tomorrow. Again, don't know if good earnings will do much for share price in the face of merger getting blown up and all related costs, $800m in lawyer fees up to this point getting flushed, and $400m termination fee.

FNMA/FMCC trading like Trump doesn't have a chance. I think the reality is they will be released by next administration with announcement of going back private before end of 2028(unsure if they would have it done before next election but the timeline will at exist), but if Trump wins they are released likely by 2026 or 2027 likely with better terms.

Other trump plays getting crushed as well.

Rily strangely positive, but lots of puts expiring this week and as always 50%+ interest on borrow will keep adding up. At some point they gotta start covering and new short interest data drops after hours today. No sigificant covering yet so whatever new data says I am guessing there is still 10m shares short(was 12m previously) which means short interest still above 60% easy. I am tempted to try and average down on 9/20 calls to try and get out from those calls with a small profit instead of holding to expiration, but I think better play is just move on to the October monthly strike.

Like many of the other debates, I don't think anyone really won it. I'd give the edge to Trump for various reasons though.

Trump started out strong and objective with his answers. Kamala started out a bit nervous, and I recall her not answering the first few questions at all. She was clearly prepared with a script and stuck with it throughout most of the debate. My GF and I both agreed throughout that she often failed to answer the questions. Despite this, many journalists and people interviewed said she did well...shrug

ABC showed some clear bias with fact checks ready on Trump, yet did not one fact check on Kamala.

By midway through the debate it started to get kind of sloppy on both sides. Kamala poked the bear a few times and he took the bait. Talking about his rally sizes being small and people leaving early. Clearly not true, but he took the bait and got defensive.

By the end of it, you don't really have an idea on what her economic policies are other than more handouts (talked about $50k credits towards small businesses), what has she been doing with foreign policy, if anything, wasn't pressed at all about Afghanistan pullout fail, why the war in Ukraine continues and what has she done to start peace, and why they haven't gotten back the Israeli hostages, and she made no real comments about the border or illegal immigration either.

I specifically asked my GF about who won the abortion debate, because she has a lot of liberal friends and I'm curious how Trump did in comparison. Now that she understands Trumps position and how the SC returned the decision to the states, it's a position she now prefers and makes the most sense.

I think most people have already made their choice on the candidates. I don't see another debate occurring unless it's with Fox, so Trump at least has less bias in the moderators.

Rily showing short interest unchanged. Again based on volume and interest rate to borrow shares I’m guessing there was some covering as rate is 50% to borrow vs the 70% it was at the time. On a 15m float whether there is 10m borrowed or 12m it isn’t going to matter when news drops and the retail shorts are forced to cover. This isn’t primarily institutional shorting, it’s a couple of dudes with small hedge funds and a bunch of retail hangers on that are about to get smeared on the wall. Market cap at $6/share is $185m. This short interest has been massive for a long time so a lot of profits likely have been getting chipped away from borrow fees. Now the puts are going to $0 for anything otm/atm opened the last month or so too. Haven’t seen much call buying yet in comparison which I have been a little surprised by. I was hoping to see a ramp up closer to monthly expiration next Friday, but that’s ok. I bought some October calls this morning before the quick spike around noon.

Bought some more TLT puts at $100p for $52 exp 9/20. I think we retrace some. Covered my $97CCs for a big ol loss at $3.9 each and resold $100p for $2.30 for October; I was paid $1.5 initially so not ideal, but I figure I might get full premium by October.
