What's hilarious is everyone that was getting in when it was on its way up are completely silent on every forum I'm on. All the people predicting 50K+ before the end of 2018 and such were posting every day and extremely vocal about bitcoin. They lose their ass off and its completely silence.
Where is my worth 50K by the end of 2018 crew now? Lmao.

Selling into this little rally and will be completely out. This is about to get real ugly. I genuinely think there will be problems with liquidity at the exchanges.

I think even the potential of the technology is overblown, nobody can really nail down how it will be used, just that it will be a "game changer"
ICX had a press conference type of deal a couple days ago, announcing that they had partnerships with Bloomberg and Forbes. I asked a genuine question, in what way would Bloomberg/Forbes utilize ICX's technology. Nobody had an answer.
The kicker - the "partnership" was ICX advertising on those websites.

at the end of the day, bitcoin has proven it can work. banks don't need to be involved and you can send money to and fro via the internet.
worst case scenario. why can't it exist as its own niche product? those who want to use bitcoin (or any crypto) can, its scarcity makes it more expensive, etc.
for instance, fiat existing in its own right and crypto (for whatever reason or for whatever you need it for) exists in its capacity and you can use it/ them if you want.
i think there are enough people wanting it that there doesn't need to be regulation or any of those forces for it to exist. and see, over time, it would probably make headway again like it has because of this
and again, im just saying this is worst case scenario. there are too many computer geeks and people wanting to "fuk the man - gvt" for this to just go away. if they can send money to buy a pizza without any type of regulatory interference i think they will. i really see it as a forever perpetuating space because btc has proven it can work

Best to not over play the "I told you so" card.
It was easy to see that the massive returns were a bubble based on how, why, and who was investing in bitcoin.
However, I am not going to play the "I told you so" unless bitcoin is back under 1k or so.
Sad because I like the crypto concept just not the execution at present.

Don't get me started on this current market and tether. Basically begging for outside forces to step in. A bubble wrapped in a ponzi wrapped in a fraud.
But you're right, there is some fascinating stuff coming down the pipes. Ill be looking to invest once the tether situation is cleared up.

Oh, neat. Someone posted that vague chart again thinking they're a genius.
Suddenly people are Wall Street tycoons reading charts like a guru.
The chart has no time scale, and even if it did, institutional investors are barely involved at this point. They just squeezed into crypto at the middle of December. Lul.

For crypto to work it requires massive adoption and there can't be 400 different coins.
A couple will need to rise to the top and then be adopted AND USED as a currency. If bitcoin (Flagship Chad) is exposed as a giant scam (not necessarily the coin, but the market) gaining mainstream adoption is going to be hard.

Bitcoin is the one that haspotentiallyfaulty real world use IMO. As a "global" currency that doesnt have an explicit real world use, but instead relies on mainstream adoption. There are plenty more coins like the aforementioned eth and wtc

It has a niche market, mainly for circumventing the government, something the mainstream population isn't all that interested in. At least speaking for myself.
Platform tokens like eth, I'm not 100% sure how they work, there are most definitely issues with smart contracts too.
