With futures out tomorrow I believe all the noobs are selling right now because for some reason theres this very popular thought that 'Wallstreet is going to FOR SURE short BTC'.. well I have some deep questions about that..
1. Why would the professionals at wallstreet or any institution for that matter announce what they are doing to the WORLD when this is a direct competition.
2. WallStreet is not a single entity, all firms are technically battling against each other. It would not be in their best interests to collude.
3. Theres more money to be made currently on the upside than down
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, futures are simply a hedging tools for pros. We have no interest in gambling, hedging is the name of the game to reduce risks and lock in profits.
5. In the event that all of wallstreet colludes to 'short' btc they would be fighting a WORLD MARKET. One does not simply short a world market, it would be a career ending move potentially.
6. Don't listen to random people on the internet, most are speaking out their ass just so they can say something.. including me.

What I think is one likely scenario is that futures release will intially be a selloff then price stablization. When futures really get going I don't think we'll have the same violent swings we see currently because the pros will first put a floor in for BTC and then by hedging btc positions with futures the price will only move so much.. I could very well be wrong but thats what I've seen in traditional markets
Here's hoping for some cheap btc for Christmas

Have like 80% in wallet and 20% on exchange.

The wallet is actually fine for storage if you do it correctly, it's just a piece of **** - like it's uncomfortable to see a 0 balance half the time you log in. But you can't even get it off Binance right now as far as I know so it doesn't matter.

BTC getting wrecked. In before widespread panic if it hits 10K in the next few days.

I’m kicking myself a bit for putting my LTC stack into IOTA. I knew it was going up and going up soon, just had no idea when. Not a horrible move but a pretty bad one in the short term as I’d have 1.5x the IOTA I have now (bought LTC at like $70)

basically exactly what you said. set a stop at the level you feel comfortable. if it's 450 then the moment eth reaches 450 on gdax it'll start intiating a sell of all the coins you have on that order. it could 1 coin could sell at 449, the next could sell at 448 and so on untill your order is completed. it could also sell all at once depending how fast the market is moving. it just gives you the best price immediately after it hits your target. i always try to set my stops in a spot where i'm still holding onto profits or i'm break even.

it gets more advance than that but that's the basics. set it and forget about it because it'll sell as soon as it reaches that price.
