Cryptards get in here for an IQ test

I see many crypto "investors" talking about how they will pick only buy superior cryptocoins because because they understand crypocurrencies so well. Let's put that to the test.

1) Which hashing algorithm is used for bitcoin?

a) SHA-256
b) SHA-512
c) RSA
d) AES
e) Blowfish

A:Spoiler!
A, SHA-256

2) You believe a malicious actor controls 10% of the total bitcoin mining computing power in the world. Someone says they sent you some bitcoin during that time. If you want to be 99.99% sure the transaction was legitimate, how long will you need to wait?

a) 2 blocks, 2 hours on average.
b) 9 blocks, 90 minutes on average
c) 17 blocks, 17 hours on average
d) 146 blocks, 1 day and 16 hours on average
e) You can never be more than 90% sure the transaction was legitimate.

A:Spoiler!
B, 9 blocks, 90 minutes on average

3) Through Coinbase, you purchase 3 Ethereum 2.0 (Serenity) coins and then stake them in a pool to earn $800 worth of additional Ethereum 2.0 (Serenity) coins. What taxes will you pay?

a) As long as I do not sell my coins or exchange them for other goods, I will pay no taxes on my earnings.
b) I will pay the qualified dividend rate (20%) on the $800 income I received.
c) I will pay ordinary income taxes on the $800.
d) The $800 will be treated as a capital gains on a collectible, and taxed at 28%.
e) It does not matter how cryptocurrencies are taxed. Coinbase is headquartered in Hong Kong and does not report information on users to the IRS.

A:Spoiler!
c, I will pay ordinary income taxes on the $800.

4) True/False/Other: In the event of a worldwide electrical failure, even after power returns, all Bitcoin and Ethereum would be lost forever.

a) True
b) False, Ethereum would be lost while Bitcoin would remain
c) False, Bitcoin would be lost while Ethereum would remain
d) False, both Bitcoin and Ethereum would remain
e) Only Bitcoin transactions made in the last 24 hours would be lost
f) Only Ethereum transactions made in the last 19 minutes would be lost

A:Spoiler!
D. The public record of all transactions is stored every time a new block is created. A power failure will not destroy the ledger (also called the blockchain).

5) Dogecoin is an inflationary cryptocurrency. How many new Dogecoins are created each year?

a) exactly 5 billion
b) approximately 5 billion
c) a maximum of 5 billion until the "soft" limit of 100 billion is reached, then 1 billion each year thereafter
d) A new dogecoin is created with each transaction. Last year that number was approximately 5 billion.
e) 5.133 billion

A:Spoiler!
A, exactly 5 billion

Bonus Question: During the Dutch Tulip Bubble of 1637 which of the following was not recorded to have been traded for a tulip bulb?

a) A 3,000 guilders (a skilled craftsman earned around 300 guilders per year)
b) 5 hectares (12 acres) of land
c) 2 lasts of wheat, 4 lasts of rye, 4 fat oxen, 8 fat swine, 12 fat sheep, 2 hogheads of win, 4 tuns of beer, 2 tuns of butter, 1,000 lbs of cheese, a complete bed, a suit of clothes, and a silver drinking cup
d) 1/8 share of a fluyt (large Dutch sailing ship)
