ITT: Not Just Another Recession + Bank of England Pivots

The US 10 Year has gone down a little bit.

Bank of England has pivoted and is going back to QE.

Chris gives a lengthy breakdown of what is going on. In the first portion he talks about liquidity and the systemic liquidity crisis before moving on to share some charts which give a sense of scale re: what is going on.

^^^
Should drop you in around 12:00.

The Federal Reserve has been raising rates/tightening to fight inflation however we are in a liquidity crisis and tightening is a terrible idea.

liquidity crisis > insolvency > bankruptcy

Chris attributes the strengthening US$ to the unwinding of speculative deals being unwound because of the loss of liquidity.

Multiple countries are fiscally insolvent. Trust has been lost within the system. All types of bonds are selling off and yields are rising due to that lack of trust.

Will the BoE actions slow it down, or save it?

Guess we will find out.

Also cutting taxes on rich even though IMF in rare move has advised them not to.

Looks like another recipe for a crazy wealth transfer to the top 1%

The entire system transfers wealth upwards. It's a feature.

The bankers are sort of freaking out here.

We never recovered from 2008. We only had quantitative easing. Once inflation skyrocketed we didn't have that as an option anymore. Coincidentally, it's well known and understood that qe raises inflation, period. It's the mechanism the govt uses to borrow against the future.

So now we're at the point where our economy is going to have to actually make something to prosper...

That's what caused all the boomers to buy toilet paper in 2020 leading to the TP shortage.
