Average tariff on goods from China is already above 25%. Unless he means 25% additional, I think it's a nothingburger.

lowering the interest rate will do nothing to our overall economy... maybe a 2,3,4% market drop then everything will equalize again.
tbh, powel is a faggot....ever since he took his place as a fed chairman ... only thing he did was increase inflation ,and fukc up the employmenet market

As of today, January 12, 2026, President Trump has implemented additional tariffs on specific Chinese goods, including a 100% tariff on semiconductors that was announced in October 2025, with implementation details and timelines subject to change and negotiation. Here are the key details regarding recent tariff actions against China:Semiconductors and Chips: President Trump announced a 100% tariff on imports of semiconductors and chips from China, effective November 1, 2025. Companies building manufacturing plants in the United States are exempt from this tariff.Rare Earth Minerals: The 100% tariff threat was a countermeasure in response to China's expanded export controls on rare earth minerals and related technology. However, the heightened reciprocal tariffs related to this dispute have been suspended until November 10, 2026, following recent commitments from China to address certain trade issues.Fentanyl Supply Chain: Tariffs related to the synthetic opioid supply chain remain in effect but were lowered in November 2025 as part of a trade agreement.Reciprocal Tariffs: The standing baseline reciprocal tariff of 10% on most Chinese imports remains in effect. Previous, much higher reciprocal tariff rates (up to 125%) were rolled back in May 2025 as part of a temporary truce and ongoing negotiations.Legal Challenges: The legal authority under which many of the current tariffs (imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act or IEEPA) were levied is currently being challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court, with a ruling expected soon. A ruling against the administration could significantly alter the tariff landscape.
