Just ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with coffee, fuuuarkk, the ultimate breakfast, as I ponder this New York morning. Renovations in my building started a couple minutes ago, so I'm heading for a brief stroll in Central Park.

3 years ago, I hated my life & thought there was no way out.
entire year prior to that, I truly felt I lived in torment.
fell in love with coffee, kept my head down, shot down plenty a times, and sometimes outright disrespected (srs).
landed the opportunity that allowed me to rest my head peacefully every night.
i'm able to sleep and wake with little worry and honestly, I can live with that.

Blade Runner was set in 2019, but the flying cars, bioengineered humanoids, space colonies and 10 story tall TV screens are yet to make an appearance.

It is interesting looking at how sci-fi authors and movie directors of the 1960s to 80s especially overestimated what technology would be like multiple decades into the future.

The visions of the future seemed to be split mainly into three groups; high tech super cities (Blade Runner, Fifth Element), post apocalyptic hellscapes (Children of Men) or pristine, crimeless utopias (Demolition Man)
