Why do so many Christians ignore the sin of lust when Jesus was very strict on it?

Is it too tempting?

The problem is the longer I go without self pleasure, the more lust builds up in my mind. I begin thinking of porn I've seen much more, thinking ex girlfriends, until it becomes as problem. After like a week without self gratification I literally begin going insane and will dry hump literally anything that comes in my way. It's the only way to get it off my mind.

Although for people deep into alcoholism (drinking every minute of the day, not just getting drunk on weekends), that is way worse.
