Gerald, if I could go back in time and meet my wife sooner, I would. Funnily enough. We were living about 60 miles away from each other during our teen years in VA. Then I moved back to NJ, she moved to NYC, and we meet in the Bronx 4 years later.

I had the most perfect girlfriend in my 20's who I dated for about 5 years. A literal unicorn. She wanted like 4 or 5 kids though, so finally to be fair to her, I broke things off because I didn't want kids. I initially missed her but that wore off and throughout the rest of my 20's and my 30's I really didn't think of her. It wasn't until I hit 40 where I began romanticizing again about how perfect she was, and for almost the last 3 years, I miss her like crazy, think about her all the time, and wish I was with her. I still deep down have to tell myself how I would be miserable right now with 4 kids and having been with her for the 20th year if it was today.
