I request that Bert be officially retired and a contest be held to determine a new forum mascot. Out with the old, in with the new. Let's make it happen.

Bert sucks. He always has. And he's even not ours. He's a hacky character from a children's show who Reddittors turned into a meme, probably seventeen years ago, called "Angry Bert" and Miscers decided to spam the fuck out of it on the forum. The "bertstare" image in particular really caught on. Nearly two decades later, the forum still can't move on. It's bizarre. It really is.

Contest should be a month long, then a week of voting. Bert will be officially retired in a separate thread and rarely mentioned afterwards. The winning mascot will be permanently enshrined on the site's banner and officially recognized as the face of Obnoxious Brutes.
