holy fkn lol @ ring camera commercial they market it as "10 million dogs are lost per year. we have integrated technology to hack into every person's ring camera to identify ur dog. just snap a photo and upload it to the app to find where ur loving pet is"

Also, this has been happening for years

Home security camera footage was used a few years ago here in Australia to identify a car a murderer drove his kids from school with, and he was tracked on various home cameras until he was out of range in the bush at the murder and dump scene. Used to prove his alibi was bullshit.

My new construction house had a ring camera already integrated into it. It also is linked to the front door and garage door which can be opened remotely from anywhere.

I chose to not install it but now I don't have a doorbell function. I guess it's ok because anyone I'm expecting can just text me. The only people who would ring the doorbell are phaggots I want to ignore anyway like door to door salesmen and cops.

I had the choice to not install now but it's possible the next generation of houses don't have the choice.
