Tradies: Why is my toilet water constantly running?

I switched the toilet lever that broke off and ever since then, the water constantly runs.

It still flushes though, wtf is going on?

I would watch how the lever operates with the flapper when you flush it and then tweak things until you get it to work properly.

Do you see that the lever is up? It should be at neutral.

Edit- I don’t know if you’re trolling at this point.

the toilet wont flush? Im not a tradie so I can only go by my own experience with toilets but if I were you- I would turn off the water to the toilet, deal with the clog- hopefully it can be dealt with with a plunger if not a snake would probably work. Once the clog is fixed- go on youtube and look at how the flapper and the lever should work together to flush your toilet. theres probably something slightly off that is stopping it from working right. Your lever seems to be stuck in the upright position- I think that is a clue to what could be wrong. Sometimes I will play inside the tank too.. to manually try to get things to happen and then work backwards from there.

dishsoap and hot water is good too.. i will squeeze some in the toilet and then use a tea kettle to warm up water and then ill keep heating it up, filling the toilet and eventually it will flush on it's own. that way always works for me. the one time it didnt I had to use a snake

No the flushing plug mechanism is plugged up so no water should be leaking through. Yet the water is constantly flowing. It's flushing just fine

Fuck brah I thought for sure that would fix it but nope. Even turned it all the way both directions. Guess I just gotta change out everything or the flapper.

Shoot so did

Probably need to replace the fill valve. Did you try manually holding the flapper down to make sure it’s for sure not the problem?

Play with that thing with the arrow on top . The screw thing. I think that does something with the water too.
