Windows 7 was my favorite. It was simple and efficient and fucntional and before they strted making operating systems to spy on you with all their data mining crap.

Agreed. XP was great for its time but Windows 7 perfected the model. Kinda like PlayStation 1 vs 2.

Windows peaked with 7 but Linux is far better than anything else

Arch or minimally modified derivatives are what I prefer

I've been thinking of trying Linux again, lately. I try it every few years. I ALWAYS go back to Windows. And I started with Windows 95, as far as personal computers go.

I’m a millennial (96 baby) and I remember it well. Our school computers all had Windows XP until like 2010.

My grandpa had Windows 98 until around that time too srs.

I’m more familiar with old technology than any of the new shit.

XP was my favourite operating system and it’s not even close . I remember everyone freaking out at work as at home we all had ME . I was the first to jump on XP and thought it was great , no stupid chit or hassles , easy to get your nic card working.
Then Vista came out lol . Now with 11 far worse , like you’ve gotta relearn where they’ve hidden everything, or download programs as they’re not there anymore.

YES. every windows since then has been overly complex and didn't work right. sacrificed function for shitty aesthetics... all just to make a new version

id have paid for just a new version of XP if they needed revenue

computers legitimately work worse now than they did with XP

I clung to XP until 7 came out and stuck with that until I had to get 10. W7 was my favorite but wouldn't argue with anyone who picks XP.

I’m 33 so a younger millennial, but I call everyone over 50 boomers so I figure I just take the side of zoomer

My home desktop that I bought in 2009 is still running W7, on the original spinner hard drive, no less.
