Are people starting to move away from the internet?

- Forums are dying (almost dead)
- People have stopped using dating apps. Realise how pointless and evil it is
- AI has ruined short form videos
- Instagram dead
- Facebook dead


People are finally getting sick of the innernets and doing more IRL activities.

Dead internet theory is real. Seems like most people hardly use the internet anymore outside of big tech services and platforms. With all the bots and bullshit that has taken over, most people are just over it.

It's like back in the day people got on the internet to get away from all the bullshit IRL, now people are doing shit IRL to get away from all the bullshit on the internet.

Reddit is like 90% bots and astroturfing activists, not a real place for real people anymore

Dating apps are a sloot centered disaster in the 2020's where they all chase after the top 20% of men, most single men don't even bother with them anymore

I think everyone agrees on AI these days

Instagram is basically just a place people share photos of their best moments

Facebook is mostly boomers these days, and hardly anyone is active enough for messenger to still be worth bothering with

In Canada our liberal government is going hard at trying to criminalize white speech , so ya I suspect this may contribute to the lack of interest on forums nowadays.
But I’ve been seeing decline for years tbh , even my woodworking forums have gotten slow af pre Covid

Nobody really socializes on the internet anymore, most people usually just doomscroll, watch shit, or be argumentative in social/comments. It's crazy looking back 20 years ago how normal it was for people to just connect and have friendly chats. Even online video games totally lost their socializing, used to be able to connect on Xbox Live and chat it up in the middle of games with everyone playing. Been a very long time since I've been in a game like that.

The internet is just not a place for meeting people anymore or getting away from bullshit. Gotta seek out real world spots for that now.

I have to be on a PC all day for work (Network / Security Eng) but I notice when on vacation, I dont go near my PC.
When I log off after work, I dont go near a PC or phone.

2 more yrs of working til I retire early, then less interwebz bullshit, yes... cant wait..

maybe people's attention is just more spread out so on certain platforms things seem dead relative to the past.

seriously i don't know how working people have so much time to watch all the tv shows they talk about, raise kids, be spouses and keep up with internet stuff
