Did anyone ever sell magazines door to door?

I did when I was in my early 20s and it seems like such an odd thing .

I sold butter and raw meat door to door a few months ago. Didn't make a lot of money but had this one guy buy cases of them. I met him outside of a car wash. Dude lived in his car but always made sure it was clean. He was really tan too.

only when they pressured us as children to sell that door to door **** slop fund raiser shit

that shit was such a rip off.

they would be better off just asking each parent for 5 bucks and get 100% of that 5 bucks than have to do this whole song and dance to sell cheap chinese catalog bullshit to get a small percentage of the sales.

Oh yeah haha I used to love doing that stuff. Sadly my mom used to steal the money I’d make doing that so a lot of my childhood door to door sales would end in shame and sadness

I never sold them but I delivered them in my neighborhood when I was around 11. It was kind of like a paper route, but magazines.

Lol immediately thought of the movie American Honey.

To answer your question Michelle No never did, but one of my friends did back in like 2008 said it was shady the "Manager" drove a van, and then just dropped the workers in pairs off in a random neighborhood with a stack of magazines, and said he would be back in 1 hr lol.

That’s pretty much exactly right except we didn’t have the magazines we had the order form. I was always dropped off alone in random neighborhoods. I did it in Oklahoma and Texas. We told people it was for winning a competition to Europe or something. Really expensive magazines subscriptions - I always felt like I was scamming and not convinced I wasn’t 😂

Did you ever sell on military bases? I guess a bunch of young fit dudes congregated in the same building brought it out of the girls, it was like a buffet for them

Did he offer you bussy in exchange for a discount?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

When I was in maybe 6th or 7th grade or so, we had the Police Athletic League (P.A.L.) which sponsored local sports leagues for kids. They had these $5 coupon booklets that we would sell to raise money for the leagues. I used to go around and sell them as a kid. Some dude would pick up me and my friend and drop us off in neighborhoods to go door-to-door selling these coupon booklets.

Yeah like one guy said I only sold door to door for fundraisers they’d make you do as children. Magazines no. That sounds very interesting. One's that sold vacuums seemed very happy . And do shiny. Shiny happy people. Srs.

When did that work die out?
