Nor where a couple had a child with legitimate special needs and the kid was dumb because of that.

But situations where mom and dad were both bright and worked good jobs and their kid(s) turned out to be pretty dumb.

Or vice versa where mom and dad were dumb but somehow the kid was smart.

Doesn't really happen. There are hundreds of reasons why kids fail. But barring mental illness or developmental issues, you won't find intelligent parents having a low IQ offspring.

I grew up in a weallthy town in NJ.

A friend of mine who we played football with was the son of a very succesful and prominent man in the town. He grew up in the same town and is extremely succesful in buisness. Donated like 30 million to his college for a new football stadium m. Well liked bt everyone in town. The kid was avg at best and became an addict and died of an overdose at 21 srs.

I literally also worked with a kid older then me in my town who was also an addict whos mother was a doctor and he grew up wealthy and due went from living in a multi millipn home to being homeless at one point and is an dope addict. He quit not sure where he is now.
