Does anyone enjoying RC cars?

I bought a few 1:10 RC trucks on clearance. Gonna resell one and keep the other one maybe. They fun or nah? I feel like it'll be a new ADHD hobby I get tired of after 3 or 3 tries

Cool subject. I used to be heavy into RC cars back in my late 20’s early 30’s . I also had a Prather tunnel haul boat with an 11cc engine .
It was 35.5 inches in length , so fairly big . I used to race cars that were going down the highway lol . It topped out at around 70 mph on 80 percent nitromethane.

I’d like to build a 4x4 Bigfoot truck if I had the cash for lol’s

I use to toy around with RC trucks, I had a couple of those tiny 2 stroke nitro engine RCs in 2000s. It is amazing how the tables have turned, back when I had those gas RCs, we thought electric was going way of the dodo-birds! Now, nitro RCs are going away and electric is back.

Any pictures of your set OP? This thread is crazy timing, I have been looking into RC again but electric.

Electric ones seem gay but I always thought a nitro powered one would be bad ass.

I was going to buy one of these for lols . Maybe do some drifting on my coffee table . I don’t think it has variable speed though , just 2 fixed settings .
‘You know if there was a place to purchase quality ones , I think a guy would have some good lols if he made a track in his basement and had 3 other friends racing these together with beers

I used to race 1/10 scale 2wd off road. Here are a couple of my builds.

1/10 scale 2wd off road. This is for competitive racing:

1/14 scale 4wd with 1/10 scale tires and wheels on it. This is for bashing around the neighborhood:

I feel like it'd break fairly quick, not sure on build quality

I have to agree . Comments at Amazon said the same . I’d pay over 100 bucks if they’d make some reliable ones . I wish I had room for a track , as I think they would be much more fun then slot cars

This is what racing looks like on an indoor track.

These are all I got left, sold all my nitros long ago, started toying with electrics again when the E revo first came out, but lost interest.

This is all I got left, not sure if I can find the shell, one is parts.

I just checked out the link you posted. 1/64 is like hot wheels size. Looks fun though.

Half of the fun is wrenching on them and and getting them dialed into whatever the track conditions are. I don't think you can tune those little drifters.

Totally agree . Back in the late 70’s I had this car that was awesome. It was 2wd and from memory I think it was calked a Grasshopper .
You had to build it as nothing was assembled. But when it broke it made it easier to fix .

I went and bought a super high end motor at the time (this was electric btw) , then soon afterwards I changed the rear gears so it could go fast AF .
I got my friend to drive my car and we followed it down the street this one time as I ran the remote , and we clocked it over 30 mph .
I had to lol as someone I knew was watching out his window and sees this little car ripping down the street , then sees my car following behind

Nitro racing is wild. They race for like an hour and do pit stops to refuel. You gotta have a pit crew and be mic'd up to communicate with them.

Additional to RC cars, has anyone had any other RC toys like planes?

I always wanted to try one out, but never did pull the trigger, back in nitros hay day, I was seriously considering this nitro plane, I forget the model, but it was really expensive.

I had a decked out RC10GT i used to do some weekend racing at tracks with, was a lot of fun. Sold it when I got to college and haven't gone back, just dont have time for another hobby.

Have you seen this guy? His instagram page is huge too, over dubs sounds of real monster trucks, but his stunts are bad ass.

Seen these both b4 , pretty cool stuff . You have to have a pretty good imagination to use a simulator to drive your RC.
Also the first time I seen a YouTube short with this monster truck , I thought it was e]real for second with his dubbing lol . Does a good job .

I’m wondering if my gym floor would be counter productive to those drift cars ? I’m thinking it would be kind of cool to build some kind of temporary track for racing . To bad there’s no long slim ropes of sand you could buy , and lay them down to provide barrier like walls .

Kind of liking the second and third best options , the lambs came in third

@21:20 was the second best , just a bit better than the lambos .

Ok I can’t find the mustang in Canada . It’s usually double with exchange and shipping , so 400 bucks would be ridiculous for one .
I’m thinking about ordering this as my second choice , and it’s available on Amazon.ca

It was probably the early 90's and some how I managed to have about $60 saved up and I loved the show Airwolf. I saw a nitro powered radio controlled one at a toy/hobby store and begged my dad to let me buy it. At the time I probably didn't have enough to cover it with tax because I think the toy was like $59.99 but damn it I wanted it so bad. I'm half tempted to buy one now to live out my dream.
