Prediction: Democrats will NOT re-take Congress, and...

they will ditch woke politics for 2028. Their politicians will sound totally different than they did just a few years before, their political rhetoric will do a full 180. It will be a strange thing to see

No they didn't, the 2024 polls were dead heat.

I don't think the GOP will retain the house, but Dems were not clearly going to win in 2024 based on the polling. Trump was up nationwide in the polls by less than one percent and they were polling in the swing states within like 0.5%-2% of each other.

I don't think it will be a strange thing to see or that it will be at all surprising if your prediction is right.

Politicians (and their partisan loyalists) can only go where the political winds take them and they'll abandon wokism just as effortlessly as they got on board.

Obviously the R's will still be "competitive", but it's not that they're bringing any talent, it's because the competition is impotent. Every election is the Washington Generals vs. the Washington Generals.

If you looked at the specifics on demographics, specific issues, etc, it was easy to see through the bs. Trumps approval on war, borders and the economy from young blacks and hispanics told you what was going to happen. It still does but its now bad news for republicans so all the boomers that loved me telling dems they are falling for fake cope polls are now hating on me for having TDS.

Even if people aren't happy with the GOP, the absolute clown show the Democrats are is just a disaster.

State of the Union they wouldn't stand for veterans and would not stand for US citizens being more important than illegal immigrants.

Yeah but all that really matters is turnout. If the Dem base turns out bigly along with some disgruntled Independents who are going to vote against incumbency while GOP turnout is chitty, Dems can win big even if their approval is in the chitter.

I hope you’re right. The SAVE Act will reduce fraud and cheating. It’s up to GOP voters to show up in November. They disappointed bigly in the 2025 races. New Jersey should’ve been winnable.

At least Trump knows what he’s doing. The convention + blitz midterm strategy might be able to turnout enough people.

Not sure Trump knows wtf he's doing at this point boyo. He's like, quadrupling down on the Biden logic of "Actually the economy is the best in history and we're in a new golden age"

It doesn't really matter to me because I don't think anyone can "fix" the economy, but we all saw how pretending that the economy is on fire turned out for Biden and the Dems, yet Trump is doing the same chit.

His messaging has been better lately. SOTU was the perfect balance.

The thing is, the economy is doing much better today than a year ago. Food prices are down, gas is down, mortgage rates are down, rent is apparently down in many cities (not near me) and real wage growth is up. We also have the stock market at record highs and unprecedented investment into the U.S. economy. Trump’s policies are just now kicking in and we’re already doing well.

When I read polls that claim the American people feel like they were better off under Biden, it really pisses me off srs.

Economy isn't much different than it was with Biden imo. Neither Trump or Biden could have fixed it. I didn't watch the SOTU but hearing that Trump started going on again about how we're now in a golden age, have transformed the economy and have record high stonks made me cringe. This was the Biden playbook and it spectacularly backfired.

It doesn't matter to me because I don't vote based on the economy, but I have some bad newz if you think this is the correct approach for Trump to take. All he really had to do is acknowledge that the economy is in a tough spot, acknowledge that he sees the American peoples pain and that he and want to implement policy to fix it and that it won't be an instantaneous thing.

The republicans message has become "the American government needs to serve and protect the American people" and the democrats response to that has been "reee that is an awful thing to do we need to do everything we can to serve and protect illegals at the expense of the American taxpaying public!"

That seems to work for California dems though. They are constantly trying to brag and boast about how wonderful the state economy apparently is and how strong it is and everything as everyone points out how fucked up and bankrupt it has become, and idiots keep voting dems into power there as they do it.

At least Trump actually has some real economic success to brag about to the people, it's not like blue states where all the success is wrapped up in the elite top 10% or welfare cases.
