In an e-mail from Jay Cutler he mentions this, and I recently started doing them.
If you’re born to the iron, you’ll know it the first time you lift!

You get tendinitis from over training. If you're doing 20 sets per body part you're getting tendinitis regardless of drop sets.

I tend to never get tendonitis, but recently felt it in my elbow. Only noticeable when lifting. I'll probably start using an elbow sleeve for a bit

But heavy low reps are what fked me , as I was always bench pressing heavy back in the day. Didn’t help using an open hand suicide grip either , meaning like the position your hand is in during a push up .
Anyways fast reps with quick starts and stops are a great way to aggravate tendonitis also .
Srs if I could do it all over again I’d only use dumbbells for bench pressing . I’ve know guys who were ripped and had no tendon issues whatsoever because never touched a bar .
The really bad news is once you get it it’s probably there for life. And when you think it’s 100% healed , you’ll probably do an exercise at a later date and it will most likely flare up again
