Anyone work in HVAC?

Is the nu-calgon an ok way to plug up an evap coil leak on an old r22 system?

confirmed low refrigerant by my gauges, cant find any leaks outside. assuming its evap coil leak but haven't actually opened it yet

If the coil is leaking it’s cooked. Either add Freon or time to fork some money out. That fix a leak shit never works

A 22 coil? Definitely not lol nobody sells them and repairing coils is iffy

Google says there are drop in replacement coils for r22.

But if it can't be replaced/repaired - why wouldn't I try nu calgon? Seems like there's nothing to lose except the $50.
