I work for a large auto manufacturer, mostly toolmaking so it is boring most of the time but I have a cushy union job so can't complain, a job shop would def be more interesting
i worked for a weld shop that was also a machine shop, we would get a lot of old tractors and heavy equipment in to fix and re make parts for, it kept things interesting and it was never the same part twice. im not a grand wizard machinist but i have spent my fair amount of time on a lathe and some mill. no cnc exp tho. thats for geeks
