Somewhat, but I don’t play the game. I’m not the type to huddle around the water cooler making small talk with people I don’t want to be around. I don’t kiss ass. My boss doesn’t hear from me unless it’s time for a meeting. Even then, I contribute the bare minimum needed to be effective. I pretty much stay at my desk, headphones in, either locked into my daily tasks or miscing on my phone in between. I already feel cucked enough being trapped at a wagie cage 5 days a week. Selling out to become a complete company man ricchione would go against everything I believe in.
My strengths are producing value with minimal oversight. I can apply learned knowledge with relative ease. Managers know to train me. then leave me alone and I’ll be successful. Being surrounded by gossiping women and constant noise just drains and demotivates me srs.
If I could WFH it would be so much better for not only myself, but my employer as well.

I’ve never really worked at places where I’ve had to act like a corporate npc. Most places I’ve worked at it’s been expected to act the opposite of that.
Think degenerate sales guys. Basically my workplace’s have been like the misc irl.

Me (srs) I work from home but I ask ChatGPT to rewrite everything I want to say so that nothing I say shows any personality or emotion.

The other half were some mix of lunatics, ex-cons and single parents who made a series of bad decisions in life. I was there from ages 19-21, so for me it felt like 13th grade. WORST job I’ve ever had, but BEST coworkers because they made work fun.

Some things I remember:
My manager used to snort coke in the bathroom then come out and tell me war stories about his drug dealing/partying days in Florida.
Same manager encouraged us to lie to old ladies because they were “low hanging fruit.” His motto was “you can sell anything to anyone if you pitch with enough confidence.” He was likely a sociopath.
My other manager used to take edibles and sit in the back office on his phone for his entire shift (nobody cared).
Our account manager got fired for stealing something like $80k from the company (ded fkin srs).
A couple Black dudes got fired for fist fighting in the bathroom. Happened more than once.
One of my coworkers was a pedo former cop who got fired from the police dept. and did a few years in prison. Weird dude. Sales was the only job he could get afterwards.
Old racist lady would openly call customers slurs. She forgot to mute one day. Then she was fired for stealing Loganberry from the soda fountain in our break room (I think someone reported her) lmao.
A LOT of sex between coworkers happened in the parking lot and most of it was people cheating on their wives/husbands with degens at the office.
Cops and parole officers showed up at our front door on a near-weekly basis.
This was obviously a bottom of the barrel sales job, but it gave me a taste of that world. I would imagine the more lucrative places attract Wolf of Wall Street type dudes. Still degen, just more of an upper class vibe.
Personally I got along with these types better than the middle aged NPC office workers I’m around now, but the money is surprisingly better now and at a certain point I got tired of the chaos.
